Florida High School football is the culprit

I mean, send this Miami team coached by Mario Cristobal to Columbus. How much do we lose by? 50? What is the difference, then? Any rational person sees a difference in the rosters.
Are you making a specific claim about the 2022 Canes roster or a general claim about the ability to produce a contending team when x% of roster players played Florida HS football.

There are seven FBS programs in Florida. Here are the votes received in this week's AP poll:

FSU 1
UF 0
UM 0
UCF 0
USF 0
FAU 0
FIU 0

So with all the "talent" we supposedly have at our disposal, seven FBS programs received one 25th-place vote, combined. Even the second-tier schools can't beat schools that also get their states' leftovers.

There is a reason why guys like Jimbo, Urban, and Dan Mullen bailed on programs that have all the resources in the world. And there is also a reason why big-name coaches want no part of these programs. Florida high school "talent" is built only on measurables. It doesn't understand work ethic or desire. And the Florida kid, especially the south Florida kid, is all about getting paid and making highlight videos.
Mullen got **** canned

Problem is that we’re trying to build SFL heavy rosters. I’ve said it for years, Butch didn’t even do it that way. No coach has since schnelly but the early 80’s is essentially ions in the past.
i dont disagree, some of he best players to come through here are from out of state. but to OP's point, there is nothing wrong with the mentality of most of the kids down here IMO..we either are picking the wrong ones, theyre not being coached up right or myriad other issues. plenty of gold to be mined between dade broward and palm beach when recruited and coached correctly. can mario do it? we will see over the next couple years.

That’s the point I’ve been trying to say. THIS GROUP is a bunch of losers and only way to fix a loser locker room is recruitin. As in, out recruit the losers but you know, fire Mario and stuff…

The dipsh!t who has FSU in the Top 25 after three straight L's should have his vote revoked

They seem to be doing fine on teams in other states

Yes, because these guys are still talented but when they leave this area their environment changes and they have to adapt to a new culture. The same thing happens anytime a kid leaves home for school: you're no longer around peers who have similar mindsets, you're around people who see the world differently and most (not all) kids adapt and trend to the mean

People observe more growth when they leave home because you have to adapt
