Mannnnnn...There are seven FBS programs in Florida. Here are the votes received in this week's AP poll:
FSU 1
UF 0
UM 0
UCF 0
USF 0
FAU 0
FIU 0
So with all the "talent" we supposedly have at our disposal, seven FBS programs received one 25th-place vote, combined. Even the second-tier schools can't beat schools that also get their states' leftovers.
There is a reason why guys like Jimbo, Urban, and Dan Mullen bailed on programs that have all the resources in the world. And there is also a reason why big-name coaches want no part of these programs. Florida high school "talent" is built only on measurables. It doesn't understand work ethic or desire. And the Florida kid, especially the south Florida kid, is all about getting paid and making highlight videos.
No! He mostly had kids from TX and CA and top kids across different west coast states. Had #1 players in like 6 states committed last year.
Very good post here. SoFla HS homers can’t see truth is somewhere in the middle. The problem is we are missing on the truly elite Florida kids, especially the south florida ones on a consistent basis. This year we've landed some yet are still missing way too many. Start landing more Innis types and this will become a moot point over time.
It’s time to face facts: these Miami Hurricanes areProblem is the rest of SoFla kids are not well coached growing up, don’t have good people looking out for them and just don’t have the mental toughness to overcome adversity.
There's a reason why Mario is prioritizing IMG, cuz those kids are polished.

This ninja trolling on every part of this board. I aint gonna shove him in a locker again
Mario Cristobal with kids from Oregon and Washington = wins against #3 on the road
Mario Cristobal with 50 south Florida kids = loses to MTSU
Consensus: it must be the coach's fault.
They have been top teams for years....Florida teams have also beaten those teams as well.Imo, u cannot build a roster full of So Fla kids. We’ve already discussed a toxic culture that’s infested this area. Yes, u want to keep the best of the best home, but it’ll be suicide if u don’t comb the nation for talent.
Some of our best players have come from CA, TX, LA, NJ, IL. There’s certain positions you want to be laser focused on in the back yard, namely DB, RB, & WR, but other positions like DL, QB, TE, OL, it would be prudent to scour the nation.
Showing graphics of what schools have produced the most draft picks in 10 yrs means nothing; we’ve shown graphics of schools producing the most NFL draft picks over 10 yrs w/ us on the list. In the world of football, 10 yrs = dog yrs, quickly. Things can change & evolve in a 5 yr period. Right now, CA has two of the top 5 teams in the Nation.
The floridians leaving the state in droves dont have kids that are good in sports...ill just throw that out there lol. Its a myth...just like football numbers are going down in youth ball across the country but that sh*t remains to sky rocket in south florida.I think 7 on 7 has done a lot to hurt fundamentals. The lack of physicality makes it more likely to be a crappy tackler. The second major factor is economics. Florida high school coaches are paid poverty wages compared to Georgia & Texas for example. The only leveling off are the private schools here like AmHer & Aquinas, of course we struggle to pull kids from both. There's a reason why Mario is prioritizing IMG, cuz those kids are polished. You always recruit Florida for raw talent, but evidence is starting to mount that major talent can be found in droves elsewhere as Floridians continue the exodus out of the state due to cost of living. Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, the Carolinas, Jersey, DMV, Pennsylvania will need to be hit harder & we can place emphasis on California & Arizona for qb's.
Also How much of florida's population plays shuffle board and eat early bird dinners?Just throwing this into the mix for fun.

Southern states dominate in producing most NFL draft picks per capita
The NFL sure has some southern charm. When it comes to states with the most draft picks per capita over the past five years, it’s dominated by the South.www.on3.com

I think another American Heritage freshman is scoring against Los Al right now lol.

You recruit nationally still in my opinion ...but alot of you out of state fans need to stop with all the hyperbole because we suck. Its like a scapegoat because of poor coaching we go through.
I got an question that all yall seem to never adress...if these coaches that are paid millions have done such a terrible job evaluating and developing south florida players...what makes you think tha they would do a good job with a kid from 500-1000 miles away that they have seen play football maybe twice, ill hang up and listen?.
Yup Bad cultures created by bad coaches.Florida, FSU, and Miami all lack the right culture to win. Bad culture will turn good kids bad.
Sure, after all they created the player. Mario is in year one of a team that has had a bad culture for two decades now. He probably needs a good 5 or 6 years to get turn the program around. We need kids that have gone through the program to be influencing new kids. Mario needs to break these kids and see who still has it.Yup Bad cultures created by bad coaches.
Los Al is not a top team. Lol. They’re not even top 25 ranked. The top schools are Mater Dei & Bosco. Bishop Gorman is the WC version of IMG.
