Fire Diaz and revamp the coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball

Still a lot of games to be played. Hopefully he learned those delayed blitzes don’t work for ****e

That's it man, don't let these guys talk you out of your position. They're all like "we're #2 in defense" and "fsu had 40 yds in the second half" and "blah blah TFL." Don't listen to any of that sht, you stay focused on how bad Diaz sucks. ****, now's a great time to double down on that. You should let them know he's actually the worst DC Miami's ever had.

I can always count on @kryptonite to put things in perspective.

Defense looks pretty good to me after LSU... I'll wait until the end of November to give a verdict on MD.

I didnt like the hire to start with, i watched him here at Texas. I love his attacking style, but hate all the crazy blitz schemes for a couple reasons. For one it makes the players have to think too much, its too complicated all these schemes, it takes some of their focus from just playing football, he's making playing defense too complicated when its not. #2 it leaves us wide *** open, its a gamble, and a gamble we dont need to take, there's a time to blitz for sure, but its like he does it for no reason at all. I garantee you ask Vilma, Ed R, Vince, any of those boys and they will agree with what i'm saying, they hardly ever blitzed. Blitzing is for when an O is driving on you and you cant stop them, you dont do it just for the **** of it, yea the TFL's look great on paper, but when you get a TFL then turn around and give up a 25yd pass in the middle WTF good is that. Every time we have an O backed up and its 3rd and long i hold my breath, the last 2 years we gave up a ton of 1st downs in that situation, seems better this year though. Here's the thing, if you can get pressure with your front there is ZERO need to blitz, and we are getting pressure, if your front 4 is getting in the backfield why in the F would you send 3 or 4 more, which leaves a 20 yard empty space in front of the DB's. There are no good offenses left on our sked, we have waaay better athletes than all of em, so i expect we will do well on D, Clem's o-line will be able to pick up those blitzes i can assure you, and that spells doom for the D, but surely a top notch cat like Manwell Diaz knows this ?? Mack Brown

We're first in the country in getting off the field on 3rd down this year.

Anyone who’s still ragging Diaz in any way shape or form needs to be lobotomized immediately.

How many defenses in the country overcome the horrendous position they’ve been put in over and over. Our special teams and offense have spotted every quality opponent we’ve played two touchdowns with either a pick six, punt return for TD or 3 and out drives for FGs.

Diaz has adjusted well this year so far in the 6 games we’ve seen them.

His challenge going forward is continuing to dominate against familiar ACC foes as well as doing it on the road away from Hard Rock.

X factor is the offense, if they get rolling the defense will be that much better as well.

We went from complaining about players lining up 50 yards off the ball and being ranked in the bottom 5 nationally for defense to complaining about blitzing too much and being ranked top 5 nationally for defense. Sounds like our average gameday thread porster.

absolutely, helps bigtime, and we are much better this year on 3rd downs not arguing that, seems Manny is learning. My concern is just blitzing when there is no need to, we have the horses to play everybody in the ACC straight up, let them boys play on instinct, Clemson is the only team that can match up with us, and hopefully we do a better job with them this year

I like to think we're playing a Ronald Reagan defense. People used to think he was crazy enough to nuke anyone at anytime for any reason. I like to think opponents are always scared we might blitz all eleven players on every play because we feel like it.

Brother... you said in the FSU game thread Manny's D would lose us the game and if he didn't you'd take your lumps.

You ignored my requests for you to give Manny the credit he deserves and now you're doubling down.

Diaz has made adjustments and so far his D has exceeded expectations. Its not unreasonable to think he has improved as a coordinator. I think you're waiting on a fall instead of enjoying the climb.

I dont recall but even so i will say yes Manny has gotten much better, i concede that, he did adjust, which i didnt think he would, i was wrong there i'll admit it, but gosh damm man that was close

I want to see how many does against this uva team that go to him last year.. so far I do see improvements from this year to last year in terms of avg qbs no longer looking like Tom Brady against us. I think this game coming up is a good measuring stick for the team as a whole coming up. If he shuts them out I’m crowining manny though.
