Fire Diaz and revamp the coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball

Sometimes I wonder what some of you are watching.

Our LB's are Juniors and STILL take poor run fits.
Our CB's are STILL allowing WR's to beat them inside. ****, I saw one play where ALL THREE WR's beat us inside. LOL
We STILL run poorly designed (and poorly timed) blitzes that seldom get home.

I don't understand how anybody can defend the defensive staff at this point. You have no ground to stand on. It's not like Diaz has ever had a great defense. He's been mediocre (or bad) his whole career. How the **** does he deserve the benefit of the doubt?! LOL

I don't give a **** where LSU started with the football or how bad our offense was. That was never an excuse for previous DC's. When our defenses were good, we still shut people down even when our offense had a poor game. Our 2010 defense played beside a terrible offense and you MF's still never made excuses for Shannon (or whoever was really running our defense back then).

Great defenses step up to the plate.

I need these type of excuse makers at my disposal for Friday nights in the event that my unit takes a ****.
This. I'm so tired of the excuses for Manny's defense. Yes, the offense is probably the bigger problem at the moment. That doesn't mean there are not legitimate reasons to be concerned about the defense as well. Oh they're on the field too much? Bad field position? Here's an idea -- how about forcing a 3 and out?

Our defense is bipolar. Diaz employs a mix of exotic blitzes by the defensive line, mixed in with corners playing 8 yards off their man on 3rd & 7.
Yep, I made a similar point earlier in this thread. Diaz wants to have his cake and eat it too -- be super aggressive up front but then drop your DB's back so they don't get beat deep. Well that leaves the middle of the field uncovered which is why we give up so many 3rd down conversions.

Exactly. Then the next game he played Alabaga made a total joke out of him. How about Benkert? And the Wisconsin QB who was horrible all year before he feasted on Diaz like crispy chicharron. Or the Pitt freshman making his first start?

Let's not forget the Bethune QB, who had him self a solid day Rosier would be jealous of.

6 games in and I’d say we’re doing alright on Defense! I guess we’ll see how we finish up the remaining six games but certainly everyone can agree our defense is not the issue..... right now! Now special teams......****

#2 defense nationally with a majority group of players that weren’t considered to be super elite.
I think it’s safe to say Diaz is the goat.

I do believe OP manned up and ate crow in a different thread.

Well yeah, they all had to play us. Remove the game vs us and those offenses all look better.

Also, even if the offenses are mediocre, we've still dominated. That's what great D's do. Bama's offense has faced only terrible defenses. Does that mean their offense isn't great either?

So, what's your point? That Miami shut down bad offenses? Or that those offenses are bad because Miami shut them down? LSU had 100 more yard of offense against ufail than they did against Miami
