Let's be clear, there are issues on defense BUT they're not like the real significant ones on the offense.

I don't know how porsters like OP are "lol" about the defense and not addressing the major cause of concern.

The defense wasn't close to good enough this year. Diaz has been a journeyman DC for most of his career. The hope is that we load him up with enough 4 and 5 star players that he can put together a top defense.
 
Well down the stretch we sure made some weak opposition QBs look like all-nfl qbs but a lot of the defensive problems sure lay at the feet of Richt and his out dated offensive plan. He is way past his prime. Unfortunately he won’t change aka Golden.

Way too many, in large part, because they couldn't get off the field. Too many long drives against us. Too many 2nd and 3rd and longs given up. That feast or famine defense is maddening.

QBs that everyone else were killing. The game before he shredded us Hornyfacquit was putrid against Ohio Taint. Benkert went back to being Benkert after he set records against us.
 
We are what we are. None of this staff is going anywhere unless they choose to leave. We’re stuck with these guys. Richt is not getting fired & I highly doubt Richt would ever fire Diaz.
 
This is exactly the problem none will get fired. It happened with Rick at Georgia again with Martinez.
I am far more concerned with the defense than the offense. Get a better QB and things should sort itself out for the most part.

What is the solution on D? You hire a hometown guy like Diaz and he will get the benefit of the doubt almost everytime. It shouldn’t be that way you are accountable for the product on the field. How does he fire his son as QB coach? He won’t....

Why would anyone get fired? 10 win season in over a decade, ranked in the top 10 for the first time in a decade, beat FSU for the first time in 6-7 years, recruitment class in the top 5, Orange Bowl berth, positive TV notoriety, .... What is wrong with some of the posters on this site are you guys morons!! By far the best coaching staff in a long time! Grow up!!!

According to cfbstats.com, we were 12th in the nation in yards per play. The biggest issue is we allowed ~100 more plays than most other schools out there because of our offensive deficiencies.

The defense has been a problem at times and should have dominated some of these teams more handily, but it is not the biggest problem on this team. I may not always agree with Manny's formations and play call, but he's better than what we have had in recent memory so i'm glad to have him. Our problem is on the offensive side of the ball.

Defense was on the field too long in each game, especially Syracuse when I could not believe our clock management. Why we speed games up with our particular very streaky QB I’ll never understand but whatever.

29.1 was our offensive ppg. Our defensive ppg was 19.9, which tied for 20th.

May I remind you that OP is "lol" about a defense that is primarily responsible for why we won 10 games. A defense that improved (see my post above) and was dealt a chitty hand by a regressing offense.

2 of Blackman's TDs were the result of Knowles..
 
The Wisconsin QB who was a liability all season and was being ripped by the Madison faithful almost weekly called it “easy out there”. Danny Davis a true freshman who caught 21 passes and 2 TDS all season caught 3 TDs in a single game.

We weren’t beating Clemson but again Bryant hasn’t been a world beater this year. Not to open up a perfect 15-15 that is obscene playing any QB.

Sure the offense was horrible and got 3 and outs regularly but if you are that bad on third down defense shouldn’t Manny’s D take some of the blame here for being on the field too long?
