Personally I don’t want to see likens as our next OC. I don’t think he’s particularly special there. But I get the move I’m just not in love with it

Say what you will about Manny, but he’s learning. He knows Rhett isn’t here much longer, and he’s putting the pieces in place to make it as smooth a transition as possible.

Put me in the wait and see camp with lashlee. He got lucky with a great transfer quarterback and his scheme wasn’t exactly destroying people weekly. He’s awesome but we had the same reaction once we got Diaz after NoD. The guy who preceded him was so bad he looked like Jesus. Let’s see what he can do with TVD or Garcia before we crown him. And also how the run game looks this year

Not sure if any of you listened to the Behind the U podcast this week with Rob Likens featured, but he's very impressive and likeable. With him, Justice and Lashlee, we have 3 guys that have been offensive coordinators on staff. The current staff is easily the best staff we've had in 20 years, IMO.

Back in 2014, Likens was the pass game coordinator at Cal-Berkely when No. 1 overall draft pick Jared Goff led the Golden Bears to have the sixth-ranked passing offense, with Goff tossing for over 4000 yards while averaging 346 yards per game.

I dont get the lashes hype

We had a top 30 offense after being in the 90s. All with an all new system, a new QB stuck throwing to two receivers you absolutely loathe, behind a subpar offensive line, with just a handful of practices.

What don’t you get?

from 100+ offense to mid 30s. Not bad. Add 10-15 dropped balls from our receivers and it may have improved a few notches.

Lashlee won't get a good HC job until they see what he does with either Garcia or TVD.

I love the moves. I agree you don't just give the OC spot to Likens if/when Lashlee moves on. You definitely interview externally as well. But depending on Lashlee's timing this may all be moot.. Keep giving him responsibility to prove he's your guy.
