That would be dumb as ****.

If it were announced that Butch Davis was HC at Miami again, kids from all over would be wanting to come play for him as he has proven - unlike any others - that he puts players in the league - more in ten years than Saban's done the last twelve.

Lots of the adults around the 305 would be telling kids the truth - Butch will get UM right back up to the top. If not for the ongoing crap at UNC long before he got there, he still put seven in the league his last year, and still went 8-5 in spite of losing thirteen of his players - mostly his starters.

Butch is proven.

All the others mentioned are possibles, and if they DID succeed in winning games here, they'd be offered by everyone and their brother, including the NFL, and we'd be right back in the same siht hole we've been in the past three years.

Butch comes back - he stays.

After the Jon Gruden BS, I'm not believing ANYTHING Ferman says. Mario would certainly be the obvious best fit here, but I'd rather have Butch.

Load of crap. Alabama recruits itself. That's what winning multiple championships and dominating will do for you. Not that we'd know about that lately.

Cristobal is garbage. Would rather bring back Randy.
 
You guys would give serious consideration to a coach that FAILED AT FIU???

Alabama is recruiting for itself. Recruiting wise they are on Auto Pilot with no sign of falling off anytime soon unlike Miami, Texas, USC.

Lets put it this way, had Cristobal stayed at Miami under Golden, not a single one of those kids would be committed to Miami right now.

Name one coach that would be worse. What team the last four years has under performed as bad as Miami? Too much talent to not win.
Any coach wouldn't be great, but any would be an improvement. I'd do a backflip for Randy Shannon. That's how bad Golden is.
 
We are just gonna get average to below average coaches, until this adminstration decides to pay for a top end coach and his staff the soap opera will continue

No, the next hire has to be a home run hire. You hire another sub par coach and you are setting the program back over a decade. Fire Golden and get someone that you know will take the program back to relevancy.

But ****, I like Tuberville, and I don't think that idea's gonna fly to well on these boards. I mean, you've got a guy at Cincinnati with strong Miami ties who is a DEFENSIVE coach, and a **** good one, and he has proven that he can go 13-0 in the SEC West with lesser talent than his competition..... that guy is just sitting there waiting to be plucked up.

But you guys are talking about Mario MOTHER****ING Cristobal. Jesus.
