Fall practice #4

You're words "he clearly isn't" proves your dislike for him. If you want to say he hasn't proven it here yet, I can understand but how can you say he clearly isn't? Just like the rest of the QBs.
So i must dislike all the qbs then because i said none off them are elite. But of course you only read it is as tate.

It's 2019 and we still, as a board, want to shoehorn RPO as a single thing. It has so many variations now from under center, the gun, outside WRs, bubbles, the slot, etc., that it's actually a fascinating concept used at all levels of play. But, let's be absolutely clear, it's not exclusive to numbers, pre-nap, post-snap, or hanging defenders.

I'm about to ask some of our former board QBs to do a podcast with me. I see the RPO from the defensive side, but I know for sure this is an area of tremendous variation and would love someone who's actually executed it as a QB to discuss all the variations.

What elite traits has he flashed in college? I’m not hating, I’m curious. I’m one of those lame folk who doesn’t care who QB1 is as long as it’s Enos’ choice.

And please don’t mention high school, we’ve had plenty of guys who flashed “elite” qualities in high school.

I posted this in another thread but a lot of people dismissed it because the competition. Regardless what you want to say about that, it shows those traits in college.

I alluded to this in the thread that had LA Tech videos in it, I am very intrigued by Baker's use of the rush ends.
I very much like the upward stance he utilizes at times with the edge rushers, in particular with three interior lineman.
It will be a new wrinkle that could confuse opposing OLS and wreak havoc in the back field with guys like Hill and Garvin and Rousseau.

Hey George, did you read the last sentence or just start feverishly typing your garbage? LOL
I saw that garbage you typed. It shows how big of a fan boy you are. First thing you said was it proved i disliked tate when i clearly and repeatedly have said the exact same shît about all the qbs.

Will you guys all just STFU with your criticism of the QBs? Every one of them is a vast improvement over what we saw last season. I personally feel Martell is the most capable when the stadium lights come on. But I'm loving hearing about Perry's arm and improved decision making. And Williams' S&C work and accuracy. And if either outperforms Tate, then they rightfully deserve to start and I'll back them 100%.

Canes fans can only hope all three are so good that they make it nearly impossible for Enos to select a depth chart in a week or two. Heck, maybe he needs to go 40/40/20 for a few games to see who emerges. It wouldn't be the end of the world, assuming they're all playing at a high level.

I want this group to be like that picture of Richt as a QB at Miami surrounded by a bunch of Heisman winners and NFL pros.

p.s., Not directed specifically at you 252 or Duke4Heisman. I'm just tired of reading attacks on QBs.

Bro, be real with yourself. You're a Tater hater, it's all good.

Minus the RPO and tic for tac stuff, are we ignoring the fact that Robert Burns actually looks good right now lol. I'm not worried about jinxing him cause he's been hurt about 90% of the time, just really happy for him that he's getting a good look right now.

I remember when the first ESPN jr rankings came out for his class and he was number 5 overall. The talent is there. We could use it especially if Lingard is slowed or limited early on.

Very encouraging for him

for all miami sports, yes he is.

He has solid connections and inside info, but I don't trust his ability to say who is winning a QB competition based upon first hand observations. Not a knock, I just don't find him qualified or historically accurate enough to make up for not being qualified.

thats why i said it was his opinion on QB play. i dont take his word for who looked best. i use barry jackson for info on the teams and not his breakdown lol

Maybe he rushed for more yards in one game than the rest of the OSU QBs did for the whole season combined? I think that's what your going to get with Tate which may not work with our Oline. Unfortunately scrambling ability might be our biggest need.
