Fall practice #4

For some people that have questions about the OL, according to Ivins latest article the players that are doing good are Gaynor, Scaife, Donaldson, Herbert, and Reed. Nelson is doing alright, but his main problem is that he does not have enough power now to block guys like Garvin and Hill, which is really not bad since they are both probably the best DEs Nelson will face, besides maybe Zuniga. That being said, Tommy Kennedey, Ousman Traore, John Campbell, and Zalontae Hillery need to step the **** up. Supposedly Campbell got wooped by a walked on on the 1 v 1.

Whew! Page 26. That was a lot of bs to wade through.

I'd like to unofficially officially designate this thread as the

OFF SEASON IS OVAH

thread!

Tate scans the entire field and goes through his reads. That’s a big aspect he has the other 2 don’t at this point.
Puh-leeze, Tate sees the first guy covered and squirts out of the pocket like a little wabbit.

That's good question Chise. Sometimes when a QB goes to the LOS and he sees the DB playing the No'D technique of coverage (you know 8 yards off the ball), the QB and WR can make eye contact, have a code word, or whatever is needed to make sure they're on the same page and toss it out to him regardless of the play called. We used to call it "uncovered" in college. Meaning if there isn't anyone 8 yards around the guy. Take the snap and toss it right now to the WR.

Good Savvy QBs will do this. Also judging by the end of the clip there didn't appear to be anyone in the middle of the field to the side JT was positioned. The first person to come into view besides the guy way off the ball guarding JT was a defender from the other side of the formation. I think this was just a site adjustment by Tate and JT4.

If it was an "uncovered" situation or a sight adjustment then the take away from this it's that our QBs are realizing a major threat is just about uncovered and he got him the ball ASAP. Shows the QBs are diagnosing what they're seeing from a pre snap point of view. Its a good thing too. Take the easy yards.
Thanks. I never heard sight adjustments on a run play between the QB and WR pre-snap referred to as hot.

Between NicKane and 252 this CIS is turning into the Golden Gloves. There are some physical enforcers on this board. We need to organize a board fight against 247 or one of those pvssy boards.
Lol. If dudes want to talk ball that is fine. But don't start talking tough on the internet for no reason.

So they’re putting a LT on the field who isn’t physically capable of playing the position? At the most important position on the OL? Makes perfect sense.

Again, as far as strength he’s not there yet but he’s probably our best pass blocking T due to his feet.
Did that help. Didn’t know I had to explain this.
You haven’t seen him live have you?
