@Memnon Here's an honest question, one because I respect what you bring to the table and two, I get a sense you aren't a huge Mario fan.
For the "fyzical" haters, do you think there is another more consistent style of success than being physical?
Georgia is the best at it and Michigan is right there (regardless of the scandal)
Our national championship teams were all physical, especially in 2001. Butch instilled this into our DNA and it wasn't until we had a QB until we won it all. Our talent was exceptional, but we saw some of the struggles in 2003 with Berlin and Crudup at QB.
We are trying to install the physical culture into our DNA right now. Unfortunately, our QB is crapping himself and his backup is a True Freshman.
I feel like in the last 18 years we always find something to complain about. Coaches not developing, offensive styles, or our guys being soft, etc. (cold weather or just getting mauled by the Wisconsin or Kansas States of the world) We finally have the trenches, we just don't have a QB that can get us over that next hump.
Do you think we can be a championship team if we keep stacking talent and get the right players or do you honestly think Mario should have proven more in 18 months?
