Ereck Flowers

Crazy thing is he's Prbly gonna leave as a 3 or 4 year starter at tackle and maybe be a top 10 pick

What SH was supposed to be for us

Holy ****.

You CANNOT start a thread with a player's name only for the title.

Especially a key - ****ing key! - cog like the badass EF.
Especially the night before a game.

Gave me a cotdam heart attack.

Miami was actually the last of the Florida schools that offered him. He was NOT an early target for Miami. Miami had several other lineman ahead of him on there target list, but none of them wanted to come here.

We are really lucky he wanted to be a cane from day one.

Erick was very early commit and never waivered, like Trevor this year. He was beast from day one. Love this kid. Good chnce he goes 1st round if he stays 4 years. Will be 3 year plus starter at LT on pro style team. As we win, he will get even more notice-- as will all our players.

Flowers was a 3 star, nobody recruit when UM offered him. He became a four star during his senior year when it became clear that he was a MONSTER.

So he was a 4 star......
It doesnt matter what they are ranked early, it matters where they finish. Its like saying that a team was a top 5 team one year, but in reality they finished barely ranked, ie USF a couple of years ago. The only thing that counts is where you finish and Flowers was a consensus 4 star kid.

That's cool and all put that doesn't change the point: UM was able to spot a highly talented kid that wasn't getting much attention on the national recruiting scene.

Just like Leon Searcy.

Flowers is the best lineman on this team and it's not even close. This kid is a 1st rounder for sure. Go back and watch the Florida game, he was holding his own against 2 of the top defensive lineman in the nation. Look at the play that he was called for holding, it was not a hold at all, he was just dominating the guy. There is a reason why you have never see a "or" by his name on the depth chart.

I watched his high school highlight tape almost as much as I watched Duke's.

I lost count how many times I said this but Duke's highlight tape may as well have been a Flowers highlight tape as well.

Armstead, Theus, Peat etc. those were the big name OT's that year. I don't know much but there wasn't a tackle I saw that year that was flat out better than Flowers.

predicted by some on here, including the recently absent Lucane. i've seen him get burned on less than a hand full of plays this year.

Yep Lu has always been big on him.

I will give myself a Curt Henning pat on the back and say that I dubbed him the highest draft pick on the team back in June 2012. He has everything.

Barry Horowitz style.

that is incorrect. flowers had several offers before Miami came knocking. there were over 30 division one schools at his spring game, with the majority having already offered him including FSU. Coach Stoutland(Alabama) was very high on him too and visited him as well. Miami came late on this one. Miami probably wanted him to attend camp first, lol.

Anybody else catch the play in the second half where Flowers saw something that UNC did up front that made him change the protection (New personnel or maybe an alignment) and it looks like McDermott doesn't change so he gets up and literally stands in his face and tells him the new protection? To me that's a sign of his maturity to make a call like that and also his football IQ. I will try to find what play it is when I get home but I've never seen any lineman do that let alone the youngest one on the field.

No, you are incorrect. Miami was not "late" on Flowers.

naw it's Seantrel Henderson and Jon Feliciano

Flowers is a beast but he whiffed a few times against UNC and Seantrel Henderson looked better then him in pass pro when he was in at LT.

I'm extremely late...but the 30 D-1 schools at the spring game wasn't there for Flowers...they were there for Keith Bryant (former #1 ILB in the nation and a 5*), Duke Johnson (DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE), AND Flowers.
