Forcing up threes, just to take them doesn't help us at all. Take quality shots, if Texas is going to concede layups and dunks inside, YOU TAKE THEM. The key is getting stops on D and making Texas work. Texas isn't some strong shooting team, they are just hot. Again, Miami keeps getting to the rack, you can stay in contact.

We are scoring fine. but Texas is shooting lights out. Every time we hedge out on a screen they are hitting the open man and making that shot from all over. Gotta tighten that up.

Seven threes is what they make in an average game and they have that at the half. Need a reversion to the mean in second half. Let's do to them what Kansas did to us in the second half last year.

We need to put just a little more pressure on their 3s. I wouldn’t over commit though. If they beat us cause they’re hitting all their 3s that’s just what it is. But you can’t give them wide open 3s.

Omier sitting so much had a massive impact across the board. Rebounding, opened up everything for them on offense, threw our offense out of rhythm.

Expect maybe a short blow but he is playing the entire 2nd half.

We need to keep getting QUALITY LOOKS, period. Texas WANTS Miami to take CONTESTED 3s, that's what their entire defensive philosophy is based on today. They are willing to give up layups and dunks, because they don't think that Miami is PATIENT enough to take those looks for an entire game. Miami has to be PATIENT, keep getting quality looks and wait for Texas to come back to them, because a team that averages 7 threes per game isn't going to shoot 50%+ from deep for an entire game most of the time. If they do, you live with it and tip your cap. That said, you don't play right into their hands.

Agree, but they are overplaying the perimeter, and we are not consistently making them pay for that

the initial minutes will be key w Omier. if we come out and pick up quick fouls on him early in the second half, then that strategy was for nothing.

we aren't winning this game if Texas continues hitting. they may not come back to earth or not in enough time and we can't go 2 for 3 with them. this is a big time moment for us. Texas starts the half w possession and up 8. a 3 there puts it to 11 without even us touching the ball

If I see stupidity, I call it out. I don't apologize. It's almost like there's a playbook of insane takes, and some posters take turns wedging them into conversations. Miami is in contact, despite Texas having their best shooting half OF THE ENTIRE SEASON. Miami comes out strong in the second half, they have a fighting chance. The key is forcing Texas into some tougher shots.
