Early returns on the true freshmen?

Well the striker position when you think about it is like a big safety/corner playing in the slot. Never saw Romeo Finley being a great cover guy in highschool and thought he was more of a hitter but he showed excellent coverage ability and range playing that role. Gilbert can possibly thrive there too honestly
No doubt the striker position is just a sub package for having 3 safeties on the field. I think Gil can also thrive at that role. But if we get hit with a injury to Ivey of blades or bandy I’d rather see the coaches put Gil or even Derrick smith outside because I don’t trust true freshman out on the boundaries getting majority of the snaps. It’s very rare that even elite prospects come in and are not a liability outside at corner.

Yeah true freshman corners scare me. In the same way a true freshman QB or left tackle would scare me honestly. One mistake and a receiver is streaking down field for a huge gain.

Jahfari Harvey will kill it this year as a situational pass rusher.
Looks great physically , he should be able to play around 235-240 or so as a freshman

Think so with couch? I think he probably needs to redshirt this year and get up to at least 180 or so which definitely is doable by spring next year since he’s probably between 160-165 right now

It’s possible for him to put on 15lbs before the season and he’s probably already started

I’m all seriousness I don’t expect Payton to have that impact. No because he lacks talent but I think that freshman season of AR the depth chart was depleted. We only had coley coming back as a legit outside proven player. This year we still lack the favorable depth but we JT4, Wiggins who will make a jump this year, KJ, and Pope..but I agree with you 12 has skills that excite. Idk about explosiveness like AR but his body control is top notch
AR was a special player. Would have played his freshmen year regardless of who was there.

A lot of these kids have never ate right or enough , the nutrition plus a real s&c is what makes the quick body transformations.
You are 1000% correct. The nutrition aspect might be the biggest shock to their body. Some of these kids are use to eating fast food on a daily basis. There's also a n
segment of these kids that live in food deserts.

Thats what supposed to happen when you are building depth

You have become satisfied with mediocrity......Pretty sure championship caliber teams have freshman making impact/playing. But when you get Plan B guys(for the most part) then yes.....Freshman arent going to play

Mediocrity? What? It’s being realistic about the impact the freshman guys can possibly make this year which imo not much considering a lot of spots are spoken for pretty much. Storm18 was very talented but most didn’t make a big impact, it happens
