Had a late lunch with someone close to him and pretty much all the top talent in Tampa (Bay Area). I've known for a couple weeks the kid was going to commit. He solid. Watched them practice and he is big. Has one of those naturally powerful arms without much effort. Those saying he a project have no idea what they talking about! George Campbell is a big dude too ( gaytors or Bama sorry). We gotta a good chance with Dion Cain Tampa Bay Tech. Very athletic! I was told he's on par with Campbell if he plays WR. I was also told Campbell has a younger cousin at Dunedin the plays DT. For the life of me can't think of his name or the DT he told me about at Tarpon Springs. Says the Canes should be all over both. I'll get back with those names (sorry). Byron Cowart wanted to go to Oregon, but parents limited him to state of Florida or Georgia (Dawgs). He looks like an NFL'er right now. Says Bama tough to beat because the treat players like royalty. They can't get paid but want for nothing! Get best of everything. They live large, win big and put em' in the league, that's their appeal right now. Lastly, told me pretty much all the top talent likes Miami, but they gotta win and win big and get some high draft choices and they can easily be relevant again.

So you think Miami has a good chance at Cain? Is the Lawson commitment gonna influence Cain a little bit?

Heard the same about Cowart. Only thing that reassures Florida right now is that his mom loves UF. Also have to watch Auburn for him. Campbell is looking like it will come down to UF vs. FSU. Noles are selling him on being the next Kelvin Benjamin. UF obviously pushing the need for playmakers and early playing time. If Campbell could catch consistently he'd be in the mix for #1 overall prospect. I think all of the big three feel good about Cain. His brother attends UF but that won't be a big deal in the end supposedly.

My issues with Lawson come down to his accuracy. He's a beast athlete though.

Good stuff for sure, but I have to love the "they can't get paid, but want for nothing".......like wanting to get paid....lol. Sure is a great sound byte though.

whoever is saying this kid is skinny is a flat out idiot.

this kid has great size and looks like he'll be a solid 235-240 in college. he is a very smooth athlete for his size and he shows good arm strength and pocket presence. he does look like he probably needs work with his throwing motion and reading pass coverages.

very solid pick up IMO. hope he sticks around when F.A.G. gets fired this year

a pleasant surprise for once. he can redshirt and create some space on the depth chart in case Kaaya transfers after failing to beat out Olsen.

This is the type of dude I wish we had been recruiting for years now.

Hope this sticks.

Lawson looks like a natural QB. I would compare him to a lighter Ryan Mallet, he also looks pretty fundamentally sound. I hope he sticks he looks like he could be the best QB in Florida. I really wouldn't worry about QB now for the rest of this class. Maybe stay in Gibson's ear if he suddenly decides he may wanna stay in the state.
