Dumpster Fire at USC - We could be them

My point I am trying to make in this thread - is that we are not alone, other marquee programs are also struggling and we will eventually turn it around - have some faith. Everyone wants to fire this one/fire that one - make changes here/make changes there/make changes everywhere. Have some faith LONG TERM in the program and we will get it right.

Motherfuxxkas want to bury Richt after a rough stretch. He will get it right. He is a coach with a winning pedigree. He is far from perfect but he is miles better than we what we got in the past few hires. Who else we gonna get??? No one!! So suck it up - persevere through this rough stretch and when things get better - all you ******* gonna be back on the bandwagon. Peace.

Oh Okay, when should we be expecting this magic turn around by Richt? Just curious to know how long it takes for someone of his talent to turn a program around? Do we need to wait another 3 years?, 5?, 10? Is this a 15 year rebuild?
By the way the last time the Canes finished in the top 10 was in 2003. 15 years ago! With this administration and BOT expect the same the next 15 years! They couldn't hire a competent coach if there lives depended on it.

The path to the playoff, next season, is easier for USC than Miami. I am not sure why OP is so excited about being 5-3 instead of 4-4, with a juggernaught we are years behind between us and a conference championship.

If Miami beats Pitt last year, we go into ACC championship game ranked #1. With a close loss, we still have a shot at getting #4 slot and into playoffs. So many defeatists on this site: "oh we are so far way", "we can never make playoffs because we don't spend enough money", blah blah motherf#ckin blah.

We are a good offensive coordinator away from moonwalking into the acc championship game every year. One coach is the difference.

It is a one month rebuild. Hire Yost or Briles and this is a championship caliber team without a single change to anything else.

They lost last week with a 3rd string freshman because their main guy is hurt.

I watched them torch Colorado the same night that we lost to Virginia. Daniels threw two early picks and they left him in and he kept chucking and ended up figuring it out and shredding Colorado. They need to find a new coach but my money is on them destroying us if we played.

Ah yes, if we were simply a much better team, didn't lose games we shouldn't, and didn't have a much better team that whooped our *** in that game on the schedule.

We aren't, and we do. Its not defeatist. Clemson is ******* miles ahead of us, but you probably haven't seen them play. We are not good enough to beat all the teams we should or hang with teams that are better, and that includes coaching. You have probably seen that though, and are simply a delusional homer.

And you are wrong. We still don't have an offensive line that gets push, and we still don't have a quarterback that is either skilled enough, or not a dumbass.

For all the complaints and crying - which I've done my fair share these past 2 games, we could be worse. We could be USC. Across the board, they have more talent on their roster than anyone in their conference and probably 98% of the country (including us) - and yet they are 4-4. Their stud freshman QB is struggling too. I see a lot of parallels with us.

Point is - we can be worse off like USC - but we are not. Things will get better.
oh you mean a football team that has a below average QB struggles to win games?

Been saying this **** all year: Miami is an average to below average team because we don't have a good to great QB.

You can’t be serious.

I still don’t know what point you are arguing

I didn’t mention LSU or Georgia anywhere. Ohio St lost because they got out schemed by a more creative team. Which ties into my criticism of Richt and Co. Try it again junior

FYI, Spankbang is better than Pornhub

Simply trying to say we aren't more talented then 95% of teams, only about 80% of P5 teams.
I also agree our offensive and ST teaching/schemes are kaka.

We can agree on that. To reach the ACC title game again this year, all we needed to be was about 30th to 40th in offense, with our strong Defense.

USC, Miami, and Nebraska seem doomed to be wandering the wilderness for a long time to come. The reason: Chitty coaching hires, mediocre players and clueless administrations.

I'm not sure we'd be undefeated, LSU defense had studs all around and they were healthy like us. It be a toss up with hindsight in the mix, but a better offensive scheme would certainly help. I hate this offense more then anyone, being a top offensive coach in Canada, it sucks and doesn't help anyone at all form the defense, to the QB, to WR, to OL to RB.

Just unsure about N'Kosi the time we've seen him, he's done nothing that screams stud other then his arm strength, he only performed against terrible teams including FSU, which was on full display vs Clemson, and with Williams we haven't seen anything of him to declare anything, you're just basing that off of assumptions.
You are correct, I am making an assumption.
Then again, so are you when you state we have no talent at quarterback and offensive line. We don't know how these guys would perform with proven coaches on the offensive side of the ball. What I reckon we do know is that the coaches we have currently at QB/OL/OC are not very good, and that very much hampers a players development.

You can say that about any player, but when you see some like Hayden Mahoney or Jahair Jones just get put on skis on the majority of plays, safe to assume he ain't ready for big time yet and no coach is gonna help him haha

Their are USC fans on those forums starting posts that read "Dumpster Fire at UM - We could be them"

Do they serve cake at your pity party?

Miami is plenty good enough to beat good teams when properly motivated and when given a good game plan. See the ND game last year. Yet even in the ND game, the defense did a lot of the heavy lifting. LB play has looked a little sub par, but they also are on the field too much. Give us Kendal Briles at OC and Miami beats UVA by at least 10, even if the D slips a bit. I would like to know which posters here disagree with that.

Offensive push is a problem because Rick is trying to pound the ball like a SEC team. Miami isn't built for that. We have electric WRs and TEs, Miami should be running an Air Raid Offense and playmakers will get the ball with room to run. Huge windows for the QBs. Rosier is being asked to throw dimes to JT4 on a vert routes. He can't do it consistently. The one thing he is above average at doing is picking up yards with his legs. Air Raid spreads defense out leaving running lane for QB, the threat to run means defense has to spy him, so one less defender on WRs/TEs or even RBs on wheel routes. Even Rosier could have success in an Air Raid (Perry would probably do best though). So again, a new OC (who is allowed to install a new offense) fixes as many problems on O as switching back from 3-4 read/react to 4-3 attack did on defense (which is most of them)

I follow USC pretty closely. While I would say they are the closest thing to Miami as a program overall (ie, private school, fertile recruiting area, city life, etc), to me the situations aren't close. CMR has 15 years of SEC HC experience, while Helton does not. Even if Helton had success, it would be due to the talent level vs their schedule, nothing more. Secondly, they basically rolled out a HS Senior (since Daniels reclassified). **** their 3rd string QB's stat line from the last game was 20/28 for 235 (2 TD's, no picks), so you can at least see they are coaching up their QB's somewhat (they do get highly rated QB's so it could just be pure talent). So I can see why Helton would struggle, but there's no excuse for CMR to struggle against these average teams.

You hit the nail on the head squarely!!! They get top tier QBs!! When/If Kosi or Jarren develops, we will be making some noise. Our fans want everything to happen right away.

That wasn’t exactly my point...just wondering out loud if that’s why their young QB’s are ready to play and ours aren’t. My concern is why the young guys aren’t ready (at least one of them). Everywhere across CFB young QB’s are playing, even on the top teams. So it’s either the Richt’s 1) missed on their evals or 2) they aren’t very good at developing QB’s. There is certainly a lot to be concerned about here...

Misery loves company. We suck to. Looking at USC doesn’t make me feel better. It scares me that programs in major cities are failing.

SIAP but I just realized Helton is a University of Houston alum. They have an OC opening, Helton is getting a head start on Briles, smart.
