This. And every restaurant has no character and is wildly overpriced. Joes is the only one with a bit of tradition and soul left. The old time Miami feel. Is sad reallyEverything in Miami HAS to be some kind of celebrity endorsed tourist trap night club today. The old school places are few and far between.
If you grew up here, everything you knew is gone or will be gone. The tiny bit of soul this city had will be stripped away to build condos for part time residents and Salt Bae fans.
You talking about Bob or Steve? If it's Bob then that guy is the **** my brother has worked for him as the chef for a reallyyyyyyy long time. Now owns Old Florida Bar & Grill in Jupiter. I am sure my brother will post on this thread sooner or later. The original has been Pirates' Well for ages now. Founder of Duffy's sold out long ago.
Great family, worked with his son when I was a young attorney.

For a period at least. Wayne stated that his team will continue to run it for 5 months or so. Wasn't stated what will happen long term. Big piece of property with the restaurant, drive in liquor store, and the tire shop and parking lot. Wouldn't be surprised to see everything leveled and somebody build a 3 story condo. It’s staying open![]()
Love old floridaIs @Bretdog your brother? Old Florida is our got to place by default.
Duffy's and Scottie's Landing were two of our favorite haunts, and the original Taurus Tavern in the Grove. Scotty had the UM vs Syracuse poster / score up behind the bar for at least a decade. They were local hangouts, great bars, and also supported UM sports. That tiny little kitchen in Duffy's could pump out an amazing volume of burgers / hot dogs and fries. Ah, the good ol days.
