Not really sure how we got lucky. We are thin at DT and its not like anyone on this site is paying for his NIL deal. I laugh when people talk about money. None of us are paying for any of our players and there is no salary cap. Maybe he could have contributed. Oh well, we gave his scholarship to Lou Cristobal.....but hey, we got lucky.

Do you know? He's definitely been better than Deen the last 2 games. Definitely better than Mesidor the last 2 games. Better than Kelly the last two games. . He's even been better than Darrell Jackson has been for us AND FSU this year. Hmm, could be we might actually need some depth

That wasn't even the point. I never knew message boards were such an important thing that there's wins and losses. I just don't understand why people worry about money being spent. It's not like Ruiz's money is costing you anything. Whether he's good or not is not the issue. The staff thought he was good enough to contribute and we have DT depth issues. Not really that hard to grasp.

He’s not. But the notion this kid was a major miss is losing validity each week he doesn’t play or do anything impactful. Being a warm body to take the place of an injured player doesn’t make him a difference maker.

DT recruiting needs to be overhauled but this kid going to OSU isn’t a death knell for this program.

The point was, the staff wanted him and people are complaining about how much money it would have cost like it was their money.

The point others are making is that #1 it might actually be some of our money that funds NIL #2 even if its not we still want the team we support to spend its money wisely and manage it well so they get get best bang for their buck and are more successful on the field.

Whats wrong with being happy we didn't overspend on a player that is proving to not be worth his price tag? And on a side note, missing on Malone probably kept JHE from portaling out. I believe the end result is a better player being on the field so win win.
