DT Lamont Gaillard update

Richt and Pruitt are doing an in home this weekend and UGA fans expect them to solidify Lamont.

Thanks for the clarification. You can understand why someone not involved personally would get a different impression from the reports, I hope.
 
Totally understand. I wish the UA guys spoke on the matter, but they didn't make any effort in clarifying why he didn't play. But there were lots of kids on the sidelines not dressed out so no ones butt hurt in our camp. It was an opportunity of a lifetime for him. Happy he represented us down there

If they dont walk out of there with his re-commitment in tow..HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS! They know that have to get this kid to cancel his UM visit by any means. Anything can happen after he touches down in Coral Gables and Mark Richt of all people knows that.

Lamont IS a top elite prospect. Many here question the Under Armour week and whether he plays competition, so... just some facts...

Lamont was complaining about his back late in the regular season. Sat a few practices. Went to the under armour game and practiced with elite kids, still suffering through these issues but didn't say a word. One of the Under Armour coaches noticed him struggling to just walk the last day and they sent him to the ER. He has 2 bulging disk in his back that will require a procedure. (similar to Romo's situation)

As far as competition, Florida football is the best of the best "talent wise". Coaching, may be a different subject. With that said, he has gone up against elite prospects week after week with good technique. Jethro Franklin caught a game where Lamont, Harold Landry and Kentavius Street were all on the field at once and the best player BY FAR was Gaillaird (with bulging disks in his back). He's dealt with cut blocks and double teams about 75 to 80% of the season if not more and still has a very impressive film.

As far as these recent reports, lol at the insiders. Everyone that needs to know anything (UGA's staff and Miami's staff) has known that Lamont was taking this official visit every since December. We insist our players stay hush mouthed to reporters more now after a few earlier misinterpretations of their words. So as far as the reports circulating about Lamont visiting next week, they are true, and he would've been down THIS weekend but UGA is coming up here tomorrow.

Where ever Lamont goes, he's going to be a good one. VERY good get off, uses his hands well, extremely strong in his lower body and moves well laterally. Has work to do on his upper body strength which is a plus, because that comes with big guys.

Coach, most of us have wanted your boy from early on and still do. Would love to have him in this class. Thought of him beside Chad Thomas brings smile to my lips. If he flips we will sign praises, well the actual Cane fans will. If he stays a dog, well it is ALL ABOUT THE U. U know.

I am confused. Will Pruitt still have FSU $$$$ or new printed UGA $$$$$ with him. How doe sthat work when you change schools? Do you get to take the leftover $$$ with you?

Your point? FSU had a pretty **** good DL, Arizona's DL was badass, Stanford etc. Kentucky, Georgia, Vandy, Arkansas, Texas A&M, etc had them badass SEC lines? Cmon now...stop buying into that bull****.

If you wanna go with "Bama line" then by all means I would agree.

What is up with your referencing that would be an SEC Line. You do know the SEC modeled themselves after the old Miami dlines. So the correct thing to say is that having Valentine and Gaillard would be like having Cortez Kennedy, Mark Cesaer, and Russell Maryland together again or any combination of former killer UM dlines. Never forget we invented winning with a dominant dline.

Pruitt had to turn in his Bobby Bowden bills when he left F$U. Georgia has already supplied him with a stack of Vince Dooley bills.

its an upside down world when all the bad *** teams in college football are copying what we used to do and yet we can't seem to duplicate the formula. lets hope this DL class puts us on the right road.

This is an unnecessary comment. With the young man's coach actively reading this thread you should not insinuate that the recruit is going to be doing something illegal. Just because we have suspicions that money is a factor at times in recruitments by certain schools in a certain conference, I'm sure it's not always the case and with this kid under active recruitment by UM it does not help to imply that the young man is receptive to this type of activity and that it is a factor in his recruitment. You've exercised very poor judgment in my view.

I've made similar statements in other threads because I suspect that such activity does occur. I would not do it in a thread where the recruit, or his coach, is actually participating in the discussion, since you have absolutely no evidence that it might be a factor here and could harm our school's recruitment efforts.

Hope Lamont has a full and complete recovery from his disc problems. Wishing him good luck in his treatment.
