The reason we're average to good is because of the coaching. This is why we lose to every team with a pulse.
No argument there.
The reason we're average to good is because of the coaching. This is why we lose to every team with a pulse.
i'll try to explain it simply. We are by not stretch of the imagination a "great" team.. average to good is probably where we stand... sometimes average to good teams will play well, some times they won't.. we just happenned to get analy pounded on the ground against two very run centric teams... Lville, the defense played well enough to win, and the offense didn't.. that's the only loss i think we WOULDN't have williams had been the starter as opposed to kaaya...

Let me repeat:
1. We have 1 win against a team with 8 or more wins.
2. We have allowed an average of 37.67 PPG in every loss since 2012
3. We are 15-13 in the ACC
These are all facts. This isn't your retarded distorted these TDs don't count logic. This is ACTUALLY what happened over 4 years. We're not a good team because we can't get out of mediocre land.
In year 4, we're still a middle of the pack ACC Coastal team that is relying on Duke and GT to lose another game. We can't even control our own destiny because we can't take care of our business. The reason we can't take care of business is because we can't beat GT or UL.
Side note: Brad Kaaya has been pretty darn good. How can you use him as an excuse? If Williams was better (now that he is healthy), he would be the starter. In addition, UL started a first time starter (who blows) so your argument fails again.

They essentially gave up two tds that game, the last one with a minute and a half left is whatever. Really just made the score look worse but the game was over at that point.
They played well. Okay, no expectations. They played like a typical Golden coached D. Couldn't keep points of the board, couldn't contribute to a WIN. No one is discounting the offense (which sucked) but the defense was a typical ALbortion. You can discount all the TDs you want for whatever false reasoning you choose to use. We should have done a lot better, no Parker their QB was terrible.
Year 4 and he isn't getting it done. Even discounting UL (which I'm not), there is still 28 points to GT and 41 to Nebraska. 69 points combined, not exactly a good sign in year 4.
those aren't terrible teams, some times, when you're not a great team, you're going to give up some points to other not so great teams. We need to stop acting like we're a great team, and Al is squandering tons of talent. As far as lville, when the game was in contention, the D gave up 14 points.. that's not bad.
This makes no sense. None of it.
Frosh qb if we finish 8-4 this year after losing are lbs and losing aqm starting brad ... Id say that is definitely trending up as we only were predicted to win 7 games by vegas ... And the talent coming in is only getting better .. Cap it off with a bowl win

So, it doesn't bother you that the team got "analy pounded" by two run centric teams because the staff decided it was a good idea to stay in what was essentially a prevent defense in both games?
Also, the D only seemed good vs. Louisville because you're comparing it to whatever that was that Al sent out onto the field in the*bowl game. Low expectations don't make an acceptable defense.
has been pretty darn good, and improving... but freshman QBs make freshman QB mistakes at inopportune times.. not to mention, right or not, our scared *** game plan at Lville was partly due to the fact that kaaya was a true freshman.
6–5–1 4–3–1
6–6 5–3
7–5 4–4
6–6 4–4
9–2* 6–2
Based on those records, this guy probably shouldn't have gotten the next job...
8–4 5–3
10–3 5–3
8–5 5–3
13–1 7–1
9–3 6–2
and even then in season 3.. 8-5 with a 5-3 record.... mind you no investigations or sanctions or anything at the second job..

Are you really using Nick Saban to make a point? Let's go to the Video Tape.
Michigan State
Nick Saban takes over a MSU team who is in trouble with the NCAA (https://web1.ncaa.org/LSDBi/exec/mi...&publicTerms=THIS PHRASE WILL NOT BE REPEATED)
Ignoring the NCAA Stuff
Michigan State didn't have a winning season in the last 4 years and was averaging 4.75 per season during that time. Also during that time, they went to 1 bowl game.
Nick Saban takes MSU to 3 straight bowl games, including one his first season. He never had a losing season, something MSU was accustomed to before his tenure. In his final season, he leads MSU to their first 9 win season since 1987.
LSU
Nick Saban starts at LSU in 2000.
Here is LSU before Saban
98: 4-7 (2-6)
99: 3-8 (1-7)
In year 1, he won more games than the two prior years and the bowl game. In year 2, he won the conference and the Sugar Bowl. Before Nick Saban, LSU never won the SEC Championship game. In year 3, he slipped a little but still won the division. In Year 4, he won the NC.

**** near the whole defense is 4 and 5 star players.
I've never seen coaches do less with more than these ********.

So Al Golden is Nick Saban now. Got it, lrg.

you're actually going to start pumping that around the boards too.. then in two weeks people are going to think i actually said that.
the point is, saban had mediocre records too.. golden's temple at golden has no bearing on what he'll do here.. and his record thus far, taking over for randy and having to deal with the ncaa stuff, isn't necessarily an indictment on what what he can do here. Does it look good so far? no.. has he over achieved? definitely not.
CONTEXT.. so you know what it means, but refuse to apply it to golden? got it.
