Dorito Has Top 15 Defense

Frosh qb if we finish 8-4 this year after losing are lbs and losing aqm starting brad ... Id say that is definitely trending up as we only were predicted to win 7 games by vegas ... And the talent coming in is only getting better .. Cap it off with a bowl win
There's that dopey freshman QB excuse even though he's one of our best players and one of the top QBs in the country and head and shoulders above last year's QB.

GT is a one game gameplan. Whether they do great or poorly vs tech, it can't be generalized. They played GT a certain way last year and got away with it so they were bound to do the same again--especially with only 3 days to prepare. Losing to GT didn't prompt adjustments although I do think they'd play GT differently next YEAR.

The key with us and all of our so-called aggression is what happens when we play a team that actually concerns us and can win some individual battles. I don't know UNC that well but maybe that's one. FSU is definitely one. The question is whether these guys are willing to attack teams that they know can hurt us. We don't know--in the past they've been reluctant.

We should have known it was going to be thrown out there. Kaaya is playing better than Morris ever did, yet lets give Golden more time because Kaaya is a true freshman. I hate these ********

Dumb people support Folden, and dumb people lean on cliches like "freshman QB" when the dopey cliche doesn't even apply.

tears. literally and figuratively.

VT showed how to stuff the run on the goal line against us. We need a snap shot of that. 11 men in the box.

Maybe GT presented the threat of an option in this situation, hence the need to place the LBs in a different spot than VT did against us. I don't know how VT lined up in that situation but we don't present the threat of an option in the same situation. Perhaps, if there is more of a risk of the GT QB running outside with the threat of a pitch to the RB, we need to have our LBs further back to read and react to that possibility. If we bring our LBs up tight, does that mean that the QB can get outside quickly and maybe make a pitch while our LBs are stuck inside? I'm just trying to figure out if there is a rationale for the different alignments given the tendencies of the two teams on the goal line. We scout GT and VT scouts us, and certainly knows our tendencies in goal line offense.

We're a completely different team offensively from GT, so that might dictate different defensive alignments in a similar situation. If I'm wrong, please explain why, and please, no invective or irrational responses. Please explain intelligently why there would not be the need for a different alignment given the differences in the two offenses.

This is the BEST defensive alignment to completely shut down the jump-pass from the 2 inch line.

I think we do know, bc we have three years of data showing they are passive and will not attack teams they know can hurt us (FSU, ND, KSU, etc...).

I realized this the other day, outside of getting punished on the ground against Nebraska and gt, the defense hasn't been putrid. This should be our biggest concern if we're hoping for any changes.

You left out UL.

We allowed 31 points (without Parker), that is pretty chitty.

They played well at lville, the offense did nothing so they were on the field all night, 3 turnovers didn't help either. They essentially gave up two tds that game, the last one with a minute and a half left is whatever. Really just made the score look worse but the game was over at that point.

Lies, **** lies and statistics

They played well. Okay, no expectations. They played like a typical Golden coached D. Couldn't keep points of the board, couldn't contribute to a WIN. No one is discounting the offense (which sucked) but the defense was a typical ALbortion. You can discount all the TDs you want for whatever false reasoning you choose to use. We should have done a lot better, no Parker their QB was terrible.

Year 4 and he isn't getting it done. Even discounting UL (which I'm not), there is still 28 points to GT and 41 to Nebraska. 69 points combined, not exactly a good sign in year 4.

those aren't terrible teams, some times, when you're not a great team, you're going to give up some points to other not so great teams. We need to stop acting like we're a great team, and Al is squandering tons of talent. As far as lville, when the game was in contention, the D gave up 14 points.. that's not bad.

that was the most frustrating thing to me about the gameplan, the reliance on the misconception that we did well last year defensively when we didnt, we turned them over was the difference, almost seems like Grohldens gameplan is you have to turn GT over to win, and give up tons of yards

This makes no sense. None of it.

Golden bukaked all the gaggers this past weekend...they cant get enough.

If you believe we have fielded a top 15 defense then I have some international lottery winnings I need your assistance with...send me a blank check to my business office in Africa so that I can break you off a percentage. Scouts honor

i'll try to explain it simply. We are by not stretch of the imagination a "great" team.. average to good is probably where we stand... sometimes average to good teams will play well, some times they won't.. we just happenned to get analy pounded on the ground against two very run centric teams... Lville, the defense played well enough to win, and the offense didn't.. that's the only loss i think we WOULDN't have williams had been the starter as opposed to kaaya...

no one has to believe anything.. it's there in print. we are statistically a top 15 D.. will that hold up for the rest of the year? probably not.. but as of right now, it's not even a discussion. They have fielded a top 15 D, thus far.

The reason we're average to good is because of the coaching. This is why we lose to every team with a pulse.

Let me repeat:

1. We have 1 win against a team with 8 or more wins.

2. We have allowed an average of 37.67 PPG in every loss since 2012

3. We are 15-13 in the ACC

These are all facts. This isn't your retarded distorted these TDs don't count logic. This is ACTUALLY what happened over 4 years. We're not a good team because we can't get out of mediocre land.

In year 4, we're still a middle of the pack ACC Coastal team that is relying on Duke and GT to lose another game. We can't even control our own destiny because we can't take care of our business. The reason we can't take care of business is because we can't beat GT or UL.

Side note: Brad Kaaya has been pretty darn good. How can you use him as an excuse? If Williams was better (now that he is healthy), he would be the starter. In addition, UL started a first time starter (who blows) so your argument fails again.
