Dorito Has Top 15 Defense

Didn't most of us say if the Defense finish in the top 40 it would be considered a success? Outside of FSU there's not an offense left on this sechedule that can truly dominate our D. Finishing in the top 40 looks realistic, but even with a top 40 finish we need a change because if this defense finishes top 40 in this scheme it would be a top 15 in a 4-3 attacking scheme.

UNC is capable on offense. OTOH, the teams that torched our defense late last year were not offensive juggernauts either.

I'm thinking we finish around 30-35 in total defense.

We didn't think we would make Logan Thomas look like Peyton Manning last year either. Or that Duke would run for 350. As already stated we had a decent ranking in the defensive categoraries last year through 8 games als. Let's see how we finish the season, you the part of the season that has been an utter disaster the last decade or so.......

Who cares, this defense cost us two games we should have won!!!

tears. literally and figuratively.

guys need to be investigated for the fed to see if they are throwing games for mob reason. NO ONE would think this defense would be okay, NO ONE.

This is a classic example of "lies, **** lies...statistics." First and foremost, we haven't exactly played a murderers row of opponents so you have to take these national rankings with a grain of salt. Second, if you start to look inside the numbers, we are ranked 51st in rushing defense. Teams have been beating us by running it down our throats. That is artificially inflating (in a good way) our pass defense numbers. Third, as others have noted, let's see where we end up before we draw any conclusions. This is usually the point of the season where we collapse. FSU is really the only elite team left on our schedule but it still wouldn't surprise me to see UNC, UVA, and even Pitt put some points up against us.

Tried telling ya'll

You would think you wouldnt be spouting off after last year...

Let the season play out and if this holds up then you have every right to talk. But right now after being completely wrong last year you need to go sit in the corner until spoken to,

Edit: I fully expect Golden to make sure he is on every radio interview possible. No reason for him to miss this now, wonder if that scheduled no show for hurricane hotline still holds up. He will be screaming on every mountain top about this stat. That is what he does best and I think with the games we have coming up next couple weeks might be his best opportunity. Lets go conman

Why is everyone so caught up in one facet of the team? We've got 3 losses already, and none were to top teams. Guys act like defensive stats through 8 games are what everyone should be judged on.

When did winning become secondary to stats? For point of reference, Michigan was ranked 1 spot ahead of us going into this weekend defensively. You think they're happy over there?

The three losses were definitely on Coley.

Dorito should get a HC gig soon. That faqqots will yearn for Dorito when he's gone.

Oh how the story has changed. All offseason everyone's infatuation was with the defensive rankings. People wanted D'onforio and Golden fired on the basis of that alone.
Now that the stats are favorable, it's the wins that matter.. GTFOH and stop flip flopping u flounder.

VT showed how to stuff the run on the goal line against us. We need a snap shot of that. 11 men in the box.

Maybe GT presented the threat of an option in this situation, hence the need to place the LBs in a different spot than VT did against us. I don't know how VT lined up in that situation but we don't present the threat of an option in the same situation. Perhaps, if there is more of a risk of the GT QB running outside with the threat of a pitch to the RB, we need to have our LBs further back to read and react to that possibility. If we bring our LBs up tight, does that mean that the QB can get outside quickly and maybe make a pitch while our LBs are stuck inside? I'm just trying to figure out if there is a rationale for the different alignments given the tendencies of the two teams on the goal line. We scout GT and VT scouts us, and certainly knows our tendencies in goal line offense.

We're a completely different team offensively from GT, so that might dictate different defensive alignments in a similar situation. If I'm wrong, please explain why, and please, no invective or irrational responses. Please explain intelligently why there would not be the need for a different alignment given the differences in the two offenses.

If by the end of the year Golden has to fire Dorito to save his job, safe to say that the wheels fell off down the stretch and Miami will look quite ******. So that begs the question, what competent DC is going to want to work for an obvious dope like Golden? And even if they open up the pocket book, who is going to uproot their family, leave their current job and come to Miami for a job that they might only have for a year?

Golden and Dorito need to get pink slipped together.

You're right, cumface. No one ever gave a crap about wins and losses. All anyone cared about was defensive stats and rankings.

He would have to get someone from a fired staff, someone who has been sitting around for a couple years unemployed (like Frank Spaziani), or a young guy at a low level program who is desperate to move up (like Anthony Poindexter).

Did F.A.G. work with Frank Spasticcolon at BC?
