Didn't most of us say if the Defense finish in the top 40 it would be considered a success? Outside of FSU there's not an offense left on this sechedule that can truly dominate our D. Finishing in the top 40 looks realistic, but even with a top 40 finish we need a change because if this defense finishes top 40 in this scheme it would be a top 15 in a 4-3 attacking scheme.
Also we played 2 option teams and VT, who can't pass, Famu, and Ark St. Any slurpers that wants to talk about pass defense with that schedule can suck my ****.
another reason Golden will not fire his buddy. He will point to these stats:
http://www.cfbstats.com/2014/leader/national/team/defense/split01/category10/sort01.html
Top 10 passing defense:
http://www.cfbstats.com/2014/leader/national/team/defense/split01/category02/sort01.html
Top 35 scoring defense:

scoring D needs to improve.....rushing D is 50ish.

tears. literally and figuratively.
Tried telling ya'll
Why is everyone so caught up in one facet of the team? We've got 3 losses already, and none were to top teams. Guys act like defensive stats through 8 games are what everyone should be judged on.
When did winning become secondary to stats? For point of reference, Michigan was ranked 1 spot ahead of us going into this weekend defensively. You think they're happy over there?

Oh how the story has changed. All offseason everyone's infatuation was with the defensive rankings. People wanted D'onforio and Golden fired on the basis of that alone.
Now that the stats are favorable, it's the wins that matter.. GTFOH and stop flip flopping u flounder.

VT showed how to stuff the run on the goal line against us. We need a snap shot of that. 11 men in the box.

If by the end of the year Golden has to fire Dorito to save his job, safe to say that the wheels fell off down the stretch and Miami will look quite ******. So that begs the question, what competent DC is going to want to work for an obvious dope like Golden? And even if they open up the pocket book, who is going to uproot their family, leave their current job and come to Miami for a job that they might only have for a year?
Golden and Dorito need to get pink slipped together.

He would have to get someone from a fired staff, someone who has been sitting around for a couple years unemployed (like Frank Spaziani), or a young guy at a low level program who is desperate to move up (like Anthony Poindexter).
