Don't shoot the messenger but

Everybody seems really down on Olsen over the Spring game. A lot of talk is made out about his work ethic but Golden and the players have said he has been working extremely hard this offseason. He's a talented kid with a Cane pedigree. He's still a freshmen! Maybe we should give him more time before downing him. For all we know, he could be our starting QB on Labor Day.

I want Olsen to work out too -- ****, all of Cane nation wants that -- but this blind faith in him is just baffling.. He's shown nothing to warrant your strong support.

can't he just sit out a practice of something? its not like he stole crab legs!

Olsen should join a club team.. like swimming and get suspended from that club and we can say "why should he be punished twice?"

this is a pattern with this kid. Imagine what would happen if he becomes the starting QB and we have a great year

sometimes its not meant to be. Now we know why the staff brought on Heaps.. Williams + Heaps for next year after that Kaaya + Allison

Allison is a 2016 guy. If for some reason Olsen wasn't here in 2015 it would be Kaaya, Rozier, Lawson fighting for the job.
 
I rooted for this kid for the longest because of his potential & bc he's Greg's lil brother. I'm sorry but the writing's on the wall. He will never start a game at Miami. Heaps/Williams for this year & Kaaya after that. I dont care how far you can throw a ball being a QB is all about what's between the eyes & this kid doesn't have it. I'm guessing he has 1 more strike before he gets kicked off the team

Nobody is saying he's a bad human being. However, that's pretty irresponsible knowing what he's competing for. You're risking helping the team and building a resume for the future for that weed. He was competing for a starting job and no way he gets it now. Golden isn't going to start one QB on week one then put Olsen in later. He likes stability.

The issue isn't that the guy smoked some weed, most college kids smoke some weed. It's that at a time where he needs to focus and has a great opportunity in front of him he blows it. I can care less if the guy is smoking weed but don't be stupid enough to fail a drug test.
 
If Olsen had torn up last off season and had looked like he's ready to start or even get meaningful minutes during our Spring game then I would have just given this a shoulder shrug, but when you're not playing well and goofing off when you're in the batter's box it's a serious issue.

And for Canes screaming about J#m&*$, F him first of all, but he took care of business on the field even leading up to the season.
