Hue Jackson?

Jackson involves running backs heavily in his offense. He likes to run and like to throw the ball to his backs quite a bit.

He's a total unknown in terms of all the other things that come along with being a head coach of a college program. Can he recruit? Can he deal with admin and the rules of college football? Can he manage an entire program from top to bottom?

Total unknown. I think he's a good OC but it's a risky hire.

Winning does the recruiting for us. All the other stuff is legit but I am sick of hiring recruiters.

I they thought Dan Mullen was arrogant, wait'll they get a load of Hubert. Oowee.

You're preaching to the choir.....I'm the one that's been yelling on these boards for almost 10 years that we need a tactician...not a rah rah cheerleader/recruiter type.

The only reason I think he's risky in this spot is that I kinda feel we need a guy who has ALREADY been a successful college coach.

It wouldn't be the worst hire in the world and compared to what we have now it would represent a **** of a lot more hope....

Hue Jackson isn't bad at all but.... There are better options out there.

I've been talking with friends about Hue since the first firing rumors started. He's has always been intriguing to me.

Good offensive mind that's well respected around the league. Went 8-8 with the Raiders , which is unheard of. So he's not a first time coach. He's been coaching at the highest level for years.

Hue's also has a great personality , that would be huge in recruiting.

He's not **** but I'd be more than pleased.

Right the players he coached seemed to excel and the the coaches who coached under were pretty good too. Has been doing a nice job with Andy Dalton AJ Green and the Bengals.

You got to be ****** kidding me hue jackson????

.

I doubt this info is legit but if it is and Hue Jackson is indeed a candidate, let alone the leading candidate, then I quit.

If so, the admin has no interest in winning. I will not spend $ again (I'm not now while Golden is here).

It's legit. I know for absolute fact that Hue was in contact with UM when the firing rumors started .

He contacted them.

I'm all for arrogant, but the dude does not look arrogant. If he lets his players play with that chip on their shoulder and doesn't muszzle them, I think we will solve a few problems with that change alone.

NO WAY IN **** is Hue Jackson coming here. He's all NFL. He's been waiting for an NFL gig for a minute. His name is always thrown out for NFL positions. We ain't his alma mater so therefore he's not going to just give us love. He's all NFL...I repeat, ALL NFL.

Can't have him until after the season, my Bengals are finally looking like a football team...
Fire Al now and put Kehoe as the HC until the season is over....

And, if by some small chance, he is interested, he'd leave for the NFL at the first HC offer. He'd want little contract restriction to his leaving, and the BOT won't do it.

He can coach, been at Cincy for awhile, went to coach Oakland and is now back with a " score anytime " offensive scheme, not sure about recruiting

Pros and cons for Hue Jackson as your next Bills coach | Buffalo Wins

Decent article on Hue, doubt he's our next HC but encourage you to read it.

Two things that stuck out and made me puke:

"He didn’t speak to the media until the final day of his first training camp that year and I remember it well. I was instantly struck by the way he spoke and the way he carried himself, comparing it to that of a politician." Not another car salesmen.

"They were officially knocked out of the playoffs with a loss to the Chargers in the season finale. Afterward Hue went off, blaming the players for not doing what they had to do" Sounds more and more like Al, but a lot of coaches do this.

Other than that, what stuck out to me in the article was how his quarterbacks usually regress under him. I don't know if that's due to more nuanced circumstances, his style of offense, or that he's simply not good at coaching them up.

So, what happens to the recruiting class?

The Dolphins make more sense for this guy. Gets him to a no-state income tax state. Gets him an HC job in the AFC East so he can go up against the Patriots twice a year AND helps Ross with the Rooney Rule.

When did you become an insider

I can't wait to watch them try and wait till the end of the year when we lose the next 4 for a 5 game losing streak. I am going to laugh my **** off watching them try and defend not firing him for the rest of the year. I also can't wait to hear him talk about progress and ignoring the noise at that point.

for real. notice how we don't hear from blake any more. he was far more vocal last season.
