Let's not make the mistake of deifying Richt. He's the same guy who hired Willie Martinez and Todd Grantham as DCs at UGA. Those two guys are sucker asses.

I'm not gonna rip him unless he hires another *** bum at DC, but this hire is monstrous to the program, and I'm not willing to just "Trust Richt". I'm willing to wait patiently, but I ain't trusting blindly.

He's gotta get this one right. Way more important to UM's future than a recruit here or there that we might miss.

Understandable.. yet I have more faith in Richt being able to get the job done compared to the any other coach we have had in over a decade.. and that feels pretty good.

This team could win 9 games this year with no coach and the worst staff I can remember.. that leaves me with high expectations with a well paid, experienced, SEC coaching staff pillaging the Coastal for the next few years..

I feel good about Richt too. I won't feel very good about him if he hires a bum at DC because I'm not going to be happy just competing for the Coastal every year and being a consistent 9 win program that can't beat the big dogs. This DC hire is that important.

Don't be "that guy". You should be above being petty just because you didn't get "your guy".

Never said I knew him ... But I did say "nothing about his career suggested he would be remotely interested in moving to Miami". You can hang your argument against me on the "northeast" reference if that's makes you feel better.

A style that is good for power run teams that are in that conference, not so much in ours

No idea what that means, but he just left our conference where he had a dominant defense.

I still like the Wazzu DC.

Also, I would look into the VT DB coach, Torrian Gray, who has been with that
program for a few years.
He's originally from FLorida (Lakeland?) too.
 
My two biggest fears are Manny Diaz or Willie Martinez, although I wouldn't mind the latter as
DB coach (if he wants to come down here).
