I feel good about Richt too. I won't feel very good about him if he hires a bum at DC because I'm not going to be happy just competing for the Coastal every year and being a consistent 9 win program that can't beat the big dogs. This DC hire is that important.

Extremely important for Richt bc it should be his guy. Im going off the notion that we are giving him his pick with enough money to get a top 10 kind of guy. 1M+ will get you an elite coach. That's what im happy about.. its really about spending.. you invest and you should see a return.. the top spenders in college football are the teams winning. Its no guarantee but its the polar opposite compared to just a year ago.

And 9 wins is soft as ****.. Goldie won 9 games here.. comparing what Richt should be able to do with a similar schedule looks promising (albeit different opposing coaches,players..). It looks like we are giving him full control so lets see if he can make it happen.

Richt has made two straight poor hires at DC (and he **** near refused to fire Martinezm until he was forced), so lets not act like he's infallible. This hire MUST be a HR. This hire is as important as the HC hire

He's a really good DC, always had pretty tough defenses at Pitt. I think he was at Auburn a year or two when they had some good defenses.
