Gorlden didn't ignore the banners when reporters were asking him about them.

That’s the goal of the banners to have reporters ask them questions about the banners? My mistake. Yeah the reporters will talk about them for sure.
 
Flying a banner will just make the program and fan base look like morons.

Golden was fired because of the beatdown Davi gave him where he did not even take his team in halftime lol

Yep. The goal of the banners was to bring attention to the abomination.

They are curiously effective in that role.
 
Is it such a stretch - financially or otherwise - to offer Ken Dorsey the OC role and have Jon Richt work under KD as the QB coach? I can’t believe that KD would not be interested in coming home in a big role and upgrade this pathetic offense in the process.

Well it was certainly effective for Butch and his abomination.

Funny that Coker and Shannon were fired without them. Golden seemed to have a longer leash despite the banners.
 
Yes and recruits will hear about the coach having to answer questions about banners and then when the recruit has to decide whether to commit to the coach for four years, he will take a pass and go elsewhere. That kind of attention is not how you build a winning program. We have no 5 stars currently on our commits. Because those type of kids don't want to have anything impede their way to the league including a fan base that puts egos over what is good for the program.

Yes. Except Butch Davis the football God (who I did not bring up in this thread for the record) wasn't fired from :neonu:

Ken Dorsey isn't going to go from an Asst. AD job to an OC job that doesn't involve Butch Davis the football God.

Yeah man we flew those banners for a reason. Richt is a lot of things but he’s not destroying this program from the inside.

To fly a banner about an OC position is just over the top right now

I think this is all an overreaction TBH. We were not going to be in the playoffs even if we ran the table. You need signature wins to move up in the polls. We were sitting at 16 after the FSU win. Beating UVA, BC, Duke, GT, VT and Pitt was never going to be enough to get us into the top 10. Unless we absolutely blew out Clemson we weren't playoff bound. I do not like the banner thing because it kills recruiting elite talent. It is something that satisfies a few fans egos but hurts the team. I am not into anything that hurts the team. If you are a true fan you really should think twice about it. Also, flying the banner did nothing to Al Golden, if anything, he doubled down on NoD and the administration doesn't really think the fans should decide who coaches. That is the head coaches job. And we know this administration is happy with more wins than losses and is not obsessed with winning a national championship every year. They want a clean program and a winning record because the ACC money comes from bowls.

When you fly banners, you just scare the best players away from coming here. JMO.
