I recall very clearly Golden stepping on the field, looking up, seeing the banner, cringing, and looking down immediately.

Oh, it wasn't ignored.

UM didn't ignore the banners, either.

Thing about the West End Zone - they didn't take the easy way out - out of state games? Flew them there, too.

Lots of folks talking about how we were hurting the program, how we were embarrassing the school, how we were running off recruits, how we were hurting our team, yadda-yadda-yadda.

But there was some sudden scrambling among alumni, the BOT, and Adminstration officials. Funny how that worked out.

Why did Golden have such a long leash? Why wasn’t Butch Davis fired?

People really think banners will scare recruits?

I’m pretty a god awful offense scares kids more. They see that we are not utilizing the talent. They see a 5 start named JT have one catch. They see a 5star TE be invisible in the game plan till 5 mins left in the 4th. They see an OL coach who can’t develope anyone. 55 was a borderline 5 star OG. He is currently a turnstile.

Fly the ****. This ain’t Miami Football. I apologize... this ain’t a MIAMI OFFENSE
 
The offensive problems are not magnified because of the QBs. Its the fact we cant run against anyone that has power 5 players

I do not like the banner thing because it kills recruiting elite talent. It is something that satisfies a few fans egos but hurts the team. I am not into anything that hurts the team. If you are a true fan you really should think twice about it. Also, flying the banner did nothing to Al Golden, if anything, he doubled down on NoD and the administration doesn't really think the fans should decide who coaches. That is the head coaches job. And we know this administration is happy with more wins than losses and is not obsessed with winning a national championship every year. They want a clean program and a winning record because the ACC money comes from bowls.

When you fly banners, you just scare the best players away from coming here. JMO.

Butch?

He came in when the NCAA hit us with thirty-odd scholarship losses, no bowl appearances, etc., etc., etc. UM voluntarily docked itself 7 scholarships, then the NCAA hit us with 24 more over 2 years.

At one point, we didn't have enough players to even scrimmage.

But he built the team up to a one loss team in 2000, and those players won the NC the following year, and got cheated out of another the year following that one. Then, as Butch's players graduated - our program sunk - to this very day.

You're really not very smart, are you?

No I’m not, just a doctor. But back to your argument. So the banners only mean something if they’re justified? Tough to follow you guys around, like trying to catch a snake.
