Don’t Fly A Banner

If we fly a banner now or soon then anything positive from the last year or so is long gone, and then some. Fans around the country are not fixated on the loss to Virginia, especially since there were so many other higher profile losses yesterday among Top 10 teams. The Canes still have plenty of that Turnover Chain aura from last season.

If we fly banners so soon against a class guy like Mark Richt, then we become a national laughingstock. That is simply the reality, whether we choose to accept it or not. Herbstreit will loudly condemn us for it, and so will one respected sports media member after another. Alabama will be known for racking up titles in this eras and we'll be the whiners of this era.

Yep. You sound exactly the way you sounded when we were flying banners for Golden.

Then we flew them anyway.

******* biggest idiot on this site. And that's quite an accomplishment in and of itself.

Flying a banner is laughable. Let’s say we have a large play book. Rosier and Perry have proven they can’t even run an extremely vanilla scheme or complete simple routes.
Yes, we need more innovation on O but let’s also understand the personnel.
im dying to know what they do in practice all the time

I think this is all an overreaction TBH. We were not going to be in the playoffs even if we ran the table. You need signature wins to move up in the polls. We were sitting at 16 after the FSU win. Beating UVA, BC, Duke, GT, VT and Pitt was never going to be enough to get us into the top 10. Unless we absolutely blew out Clemson we weren't playoff bound. And Clemson's strength is the defensive line and our OL is arguably our biggest weakness so we weren't likely to win that game anyway. So while it sucked to lose it isn't like we were going to win a national championship this year anyway.

I do not like the banner thing because it kills recruiting elite talent. It is something that satisfies a few fans egos but hurts the team. I am not into anything that hurts the team. If you are a true fan you really should think twice about it. Also, flying the banner did nothing to Al Golden, if anything, he doubled down on NoD and the administration doesn't really think the fans should decide who coaches. That is the head coaches job. And we know this administration is happy with more wins than losses and is not obsessed with winning a national championship every year. They want a clean program and a winning record because the ACC money comes from bowls.

When you fly banners, you just scare the best players away from coming here. JMO.

Exactly this. A bunch of powerless ppl looking to statisfy their Ego. There are ways to voice your opinion and a banner is just a dumb one. We are the only fan base in the history of college football that does this. Ppl need to let that sink in.

And it’s hard to keep quality coaches here (see Butch Davis).

The banners don’t do jack **** but make us look bad. Butch wasn’t fired, but he didn’t want to sign a contract that wasn’t extremely favorable to him based off the fickle fans.

They flew them in 2014 and nothing happened to Golden despite being worse than Shannon. He didn’t get fired until we lost that Clemson game a year later.

:zczkqmritjdsoaq.jpg: You snuck that in, but that was was some funny **** right there.

I bet if we were talking about a pro-CoRch Rix banner, most of you'll would be creaming your panties wanting to get involved.

Don’t over play your hand. Wait to see how the season plays out and if changes are made in the offseason.

Fly a banner now and things will get toxic and the fans will lose whatever voice/leverage they have.

Post UF next year if the results are the same is when you fly a banner.

Just my two cents

NVA - gotta disagree here.

Only one thing will work to get Richt to **** or get off the pot.

Force. Negative - Force.

Something HE can't ignore, and something UM can't ignore.
