Does Vegas know something we don’t ?

I can almost understand half assing our way into the game against MTSU

UNC has been a thorn in our sides for years. Guys on this roster have routinely been beaten by them

If they (and the coaches of course) don’t get up for this game there’s no ******* hope for the season
I’ve been planning on making a thread midweek about this exact point.

Everyone we've played so far sucks. It would be nice to start beating the sucky teams with regularity. This weekend is another opportunity to start that trend.
Stating the obvious from both of us

But yes obviously I agree

Winning this weekend would be huge for the rest of the season. Hopefully TVD shuts everyone up.

It's a must. Obviously, if we come out and completely **** the bed like we did against MTSU, we can lose to literally anyone.

But the next 3 games are VT, Duke, and UVA. Crazy as it may sound, Duke is actually the best team out of that bunch, but let's be real, those are 3 very winnable games. Not trying to look ahead, but if we can somehow get this one, the door is very much open to go on a little run and feel a lot better at the end of this month than we did at the beginning.

Sometimes I think half the team is on this board. When the board is overconfident, we lose. I'd like to see CIS assume a tough opponent and the Canes actually prep for one.

I think this week we see an actual effort by the staff to make him comfortable. Its now or never for him and the offensive staff.
Only concern i have with that is, if we’re trying stuff from last year who on the staff actually knows how those things work? Like we tried some in the mtsu game but without the wrs spreaded and no tempo but a 15 second check with me some of the stuff he likes wont be as effective

I hate Mack's Dancing, UNC Players throwing down the U, Fans thinking their football team is on par with basketball, and throw in Larry Fedora in there for talking crap to Coach Richt. It would be a sweet victory

Agreed. You're very rarely as good or as bad as you think you are. If you listen to our fans, we're literally the worst P5 team in the country. I don't buy it. What happened 10 days ago will probably take a year off my life, but I don't think we're that bad. Just "one of those days". I think the kids have some pride and come out with a lot more fire this weekend.

I'd feel a **** of a lot better if you told me Parrish and Tyrique were practicing this week, though.

I bet $20 on UNC +4.5

I’m drinking either way after

For some unknown reason the Canes mystique continues despite the fact that in reality it’s been gone since 2004. How many times (pre Clemson arrival) have the odds makers listed Miami as the favorite to win the ACC, and how many times have those odds makers listed Miami as the favorite to win the Coastal, but how many times have we done either of these things? As good as we once were, People can’t seem to believe that we’re not still ready to again come to the front. I’m an old fart, Miami grad in 1971, so I first have lived through the championship years. Attended all but one (1983) championship game, and saw Coach MC play in his championship games. But those teams are a thing of history such that despite the utter humiliation we witnessed at the hands of MTSU, the odds makers still have to believe that deep inside Miami is better than that fiasco and like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, Miami will rise again. I do hope Mario will bring us back, and if he does, he will always be known for two things, that he brought us back to being a National Champion, but in doing so, it was under his tenure that Miami suffered the most humiliating loss in the school’s history. Go Canes!

I'll take a shot.

North Carolina's run defense is ranked 112th. They gave up 288, 235, and 287 on the ground to App State, Georgia State, and Notre Dame. Those teams aren't particularly dominant at running the ball either. It may be the case that people think the strategy on our end will be to pound the ball and control the TOP, which is what our strategy should be.
Miami gave up 12,870 yds passing to MTSU by the first half.

Losing to FIU was far more humiliating.

I would argue losing 48-0 to a basketball school in the last game in the Orange Bowl was more humiliating.

MTSU was a nightmare, but trust me, if Mario Cristobal wins the ACC here, or god forbid a national championship, nobody will ever say a word about MTSU, except for when other schools hire new coaches and they suffer humiliating losses, it'll be talked about like the Saban/LA Monroe game.

Pound the rock with who?

Chaney - OUT
Citizen - OUT
Knighton - QUESTIONABLE
Parrish - QUESTIONABLE

Thad going to get 25 carries? Stanley, the late transfer? Maybe Terrell Walden Jr can chip in.
