What is the percentage of fans on this site would have been excited if he was chosen to coach here instead of Manny? Just curious. My guess is the majority would be happy. If that is the case then we should be concerned. Not terrified though, he won't be as good as when he was at Oklahoma.

Point is he’s a name, great coaching record and immediately brings respectability to a Willie clown show. I’d rather they hire Leach and keep the show going.
 
Solid coach and seems like a stand up guy. It's been **** near 20 years since he won his only NC. I just don't see him neggin' on the commitments he's made to the XFL.
 
Bob would be there to clean up the program. Does he scare me? No. But he will definitely out recruit manny, and he’ll have FSU playing well in a couple years.

The caveat with him is how long he stays, if it’s a 5 or 6 year plan, then it’s a bad hire, if it’s a three or four year plan the. It’s a solid hire.

Richt could’ve been a great hire if Blake didn’t extend his contract. Once it became more than four years it became a really bad hire. Same could happen with FSU but somehow I don’t think their AD is as dumb as ours.

I would’ve been happy if we hired him. He’s a solid coach that knows how to run a program, exactly what they need right now and what we’ve needed for 18 years.
 
This is a lazy hire if true. Stoops is nothing more than a stop gap coach for them like Richt was for us.
 
Swimming in the ocean with sharks scares me. Stoops is a big name, his recruiting will be much better than ours in turn they'll win more games against us.

I would have been happy because I knew it would have been instant credibility and it would show Miami is willing to spend because he wouldn't come cheap. Also, I know he likely has a strong list of assistants he could call. Briles and Leavitt ain't it which is why I don't buy this Stoops with Briles and Leavitt BS.
