I did a quick search and it seems that there has been little written about this since the suits were filed. Any lawyers know?
The entire state of Arkansas went into a diabetic coma a little while back and forgot about this entire fiasco. Here's to them staying on the Mountain Dew, Pringles, Walmart rotisserie chicken and opioid/methamphetamine diet and never remembering.
"You know why they call it a tooth brush..."
September 12. The day a king was born....1. In the Miami state court case, Arkansas State's Motion to Dismiss is set to be heard on September 12, 2018; i.e this Wednesday at 11:00 am.
2. In the Craighead County, Arkansas state court case, there does not presently appear to be a hearing set on or any ruling on UM's Motion to Dismiss.

If it’s a motion to dismiss by Arkansas State, then what is it a motion to dismiss for? A counter suit by Miami? Arkansas state would not be entertaining a motion to dismiss its own case.
Or did I read that correctly? To all the lawyers on this site.

Ok got it. Got both answers.
It’s a venue motion.
Then this case is far from over. Correct?
Probably because there was no choice of venue in the contract. Choice of venue is in what court this case is heard. Arkansas wants to argue it in their state to be on its home turf. Miami could of course move it to federal court. This case would meet the requirements for moving to federal court. If it’s a motion to dismiss by Arkansas State, then what is it a motion to dismiss for? A counter suit by Miami? Just read the motion (53 pages with exhibits) and yes all deals with lack of personal jurisdiction, subject matter jurisdiction, and/or improper venue.... Also a firm out of Coral Gables is representing Arky State in the action...
