Did we win the game against Georgia Tech last year? Just curious. Also in that game, had he taken the check down, we would’ve won the game.Cam bad game was 25/39(64%) 348 yards 3tds 0ints

He had a bad game, one bad game. He’s been pretty good so far up into this game and I would say efficient as well.No you said our offense would be better and more efficient because of the magical check down
He’s a freshman man and I’ll give him this, he’s got balls and he plays like it, but he’s still learning what he can get away with in the college game and what he can’t get away with. Hopefully, that makes sense. I think it’s still gonna be a year away or so for him.I haven’t seen him play in a game…when did you see him play to make that assessment…

Texting with my FSU fan Nephew (give me a little slack, family) and he mentioned Dia Bell being committed to Texas. Now this is old, but with hindsight and what has happened in the intervening 3 1/2 year period:Dawson hasn’t proven he can develop HS talent at QB, I mean every back up we’ve seen has looked awful under Dawson. I say if you can get a sure fire starter in the portal at the most important position you absolutely do it, especially considered Miami is a QB destination spot with the constant good OL play and track record
Did we win the games?I mean we haven't blown anyone out. ND almost came back and we lost 2 days ago. We go missing for 1-2 Qs each game but hey its efficient
I mean he recruited Coleman but hasn’t had a chance to develop him yet. He also recruited Nickle who is redshirting. I think it’s unrealistic to expect him to be a playoff caliber QB as a freshman.Ask yourself why our QB coach/offensive coordinator hasn’t recruited or developed a quarterback in three seasons.
He recruited Judd Anderson and has been working with Emory Williams for three seasons and neither of them is anywhere near starting quarterback material. Imagine how ****** we would have been if there wasn’t a transfer portal?I mean he recruited Coleman but hasn’t had a chance to develop him yet. He also recruited Nickle who is redshirting. Name all of the teams that finished in the top 10 last two years and then this year so far that didn't have a transfer as their QB.After reflecting on Beck! At some point, Miami’s gotta decide who we are as a program. Are we gonna keep chasing another “name” QB every year, or finally trust the recruits we’ve recruited and developed?
We’ve got some talented young guys already in the room — kids who’ve been learning the system and waiting for their shot. If we keep bringing in portal QBs, how are we ever gonna build continuity or develop the next leader from within?
And let’s be honest — a big-time QB from the portal isn’t coming cheap. The NIL price tag for one of those guys could easily go toward stacking up WRs who can separate or adding more depth on the defensive line, where we need consistent pressure and playmakers.
You can have a Heisman-level QB ( Not Beck) but if he’s throwing to 1 excellent WR and average receivers or getting hit every other play, it doesn’t matter. Build the trenches, get some dogs at receiver, and let one of our own QBs lead.
At some point, you’ve gotta trust your own talent instead of always looking for a quick fix.
I dont think Mario is recruiting dynamic "miami TE" types.. seems he gets blocking type and small h backs..Yes, and we’ll need portal WRs + a more dynamic TE too.
Brock Schott? He's sawed off but he's faster than Lofton. The guy committed right now, Israel Briggs, is way more receiver than he is blocker and he is going to grow into a dynamic tight end.I dont think Mario is recruiting dynamic "miami TE" types.. seems he gets blocking type and small h backs..
The one position we havent had trouble with in years with other coaches..
True, but I think that's the point. We've failed miserably on all facets of recruiting high school QBs. We're failing at recruiting highly rated players and even if we get a decent one, we aren't developing them (or maybe they already peaked). We have had nobody to develop tbh
HS Qb recruits aren't that important, seems like everyone struggles with QB evals and the bust rate is high meanwhile the portal gives you access to a larger pool of guys with game tape against real comp.If we continue to get a portal QB every year , i think it sends a wrong message and if i were a high school QB I wouldnt be coming here. At some point you have to play and develop who you actually recruited in high school.
It's crazy "QB U" can't recruit a single competent QB out of high school.

Look at every team in top 10 they most have portal QB. So the answer is yes! After reflecting on Beck! At some point, Miami’s gotta decide who we are as a program. Are we gonna keep chasing another “name” QB every year, or finally trust the recruits we’ve recruited and developed?
