Do We Really Need Another Portal QB in ’26?

Luke Nickel and Judd have not lit it up in practice. Emory showed us all who he was against Iowa St. Reese Poffenberger wasn't even a homerun transfer.

Yes we need a portal QB. Emory sucks and Judd sucks worse than Emory. As much as the board loves Coleman and Nickel, neither one is starting next year.

If Mario stays out of the portal so he can ride with Emory, most of this board would turn on Mario and go full mope. It would be the worst/longest offseason we've had on here in a while.
 
I think the way you approach it, is how Mario has consistently approached it every year. You evaluate who you have on your roster and try to get better at every position. He does this with all positions.

His best quality is that he always trying to improve the roster and that's extremely valuable.

You didn’t answer my question. Which one of those games did we win and which one did we lose? And did the one that we lost, keep us from going to the ACC championship game and the playoffs? Just curious.

If you can't separate how well a QB played from the result of the game, this might not be your sport. Tony Romo threw for 506 and 5 TDs, but his team lost the game.

Again, did Becks loss keep us out of the Acc title game or playoffs, no it didn’t! Did Cams last year, yes it absolutely did. Football is football man. Let’s see if Beck turns it around this week and the play calling especially in the run game evolves.

So you're 100% putting every win or loss on the quarterback?
 
Why does it matter if it’s someone that been recruited from HS or the portal? As long as they are productive I couldn’t care less.

I’ve been on the board long enough to have discerned who knows their *** from a hole in the ground and those that don’t know their *** from a hole in the ground. I scroll past all the posts from those that don’t know their *** from a hole in the ground which amounts to about 90% of posts.

I am going to assume you have a basic understanding of time, simple arithmetic, and access to a calendar. And so you must understand the bolded literally could not occur -- at least not yet. Or maybe I was mistaken in my assumption?

Not 100% but when the check down was open all day long against Georgia Tech last year and not once did Cam take it, I do put that loss on him. Had he taken the check down in that game, we win it walking away. That’s my opinion.

Obviously, Beck might lead us to an undefeated regular season the rest of the way or he might not. None of us know that yet. But what I do know is this, Cam not taking the check down against Georgia Tech last year did lead to us losing that game and a chance at the ACC title and playoffs. that is a fact whether you wanna believe it or not.
