Do we have any idea who Diaz is actually looking at for OC?

He’s fooled all the idiots on here into thinking he has a great defense by taking the air out of the ball on offense. Bytch *** runs the playclock down to 5 on every snap to protect his defensive stats.
I wouldn't say that we are: ALL idiots.

If you were an accomplished or up-and-coming OC, would you put your career in the hands of Blake James and Manny Diaz?

I actually think manny will hire a spread guy. He’s a politician. He knows the people are ****ed off and he’ll do whatever he can to make a splash and be liked again.

If I was a gainfully employed D1 OC and Manny Diaz called me about coming to work for him I would laugh and hang up.

That's the general sentiment of most here. I can respect that.

Yet still people will curse his name wondering how he couldn't get their pick or a top pick. Crazy.

Quite possible that we're working on the buyout right now of whoever is the OC at Incarnate Word. Dude just has to give his 2 weeks notice at Applebee's if things advance.
UIW’s OC appears to have done a good job the past two seasons. Don’t tease CIS posters thinking the UIW-UM pipeline will sprout fruit again.

Manny's a fraud until he proves otherwise. Accept that he won't fire his cronies on the defensive staff, he'll **** up this OC hire and next year we're losing to Temple, Michigan State and possibly FAU, then he might get ****canned. Until then, drink heavily.

The 4 teams in the playoffs have offenses ranking 1, 2, 3, and 5. Defense doesn’t matter anymore. You need to be able to function on that side of the ball to give yourself a chance but the offense is the single most important thing.

I have also been thinking he’s more worried about preserving his defensive stats and avoiding the spread or playing with pace on offense

Outside of OU, those teams have play **** good defense as well though.

You need both, but an offense that can put up points early and often forced the opposing offense to play catch up. That's always a tough spot for those behind on the scoreboard as they take chances they normally wouldn't.

I don't think he's worried about anything besides fielding the best team he can. He's got a different role now and his future depends on it.

Don’t think Manny really knows what he is looking for. Manny keep watching Friday Night Tykes and I’m sure you can a OC on your level. #TNM💩

I think Manny is resisting a spread offense because he wants to protect his defense. A lot, if not most, spread teams seem to have bad defenses. An over-simplification, sure, but we all joke the Big 12 can’t play defense. As a DC Manny believes in the old school idea of slow, methodical drives to rest his defense and keep the opposing offense off the field. Analytics prove this works, technically.

The modern game has changed, however, and hopefully Manny sees what Coach O did at LSU and realizes its that way or the highway.
so the best way to protect his defense is to have an offense that scores zero points?
