Chad

Just want to say I respect you coming on here and opening up to all the questions and comments and do agree with some of what you are saying. You are 100% correct that majority of these guys don't know what these recruits go through between coaches and media and everything associated. Most only see the good side of recruiting and are not taking into account these are 16,17 and 18 year old kids that grown men are bashing on these sites daily. Most people on here will still have a negative opinion of you but in the end who cares what anyone else thinks. Congrats to you and your family on your sons decision and future.

Chad, stop making things up, or should I say stretching the truth. Your son did not have 69 "committable" offers. It's the same reason why everyone stopped recruiting him over the last three months.

I agree about this being a problem. The school, staff etc cannot come out and defend themselves in a situation like this. As Chad and Quincy are protected by privacy laws. They can say whatever they want and the staff cannot defend themselves.

As a parent you do not deserve a phone call from the staff if they so choose to not recruit your kid. The recruiting business is so cut throat that there is not enough time to do that with every prospect. So your feeling being hurt need to be tamed by you in house. Not on Twitter. If I have a problem it is my job as an adult to talk to the person I have an issue with. Not talk about them from behind a keyboard. So even if they contact you, what did you want them to say? What could they have said to you that would have been ok? Nothing. You feel like your kid is UM caliber and they did not offer. This is the problem with the popular local kids, they are entitled. If you bring them in and they are not happy they will ruin your image publicly and that is obviously not worth it to the staff. Hence, your kid not getting an offer. Good luck with your team and your future. However on behalf on the posters here I would recommend you just leave. Your fighting an unfair fight and your just going to lose respect here. And you are just going to get called names etc. Which I am sure is not worth your time either.

If you have been paying attention, you would realize that I said. I had no problem as a father. UM doesn't like you as a prospect. 69 other division I schools felt the same way as they did not offer you. 50 division I schools did offer him.

My problem was as an alumni, I would think it would be wise to have a conversation with me a person who has direct access to a highly ranked prospect. **** man, I put in my blood, sweat and tears on Greentree practice field and my name is in those hallways.. At least give me that much.

How about you learn better reading comprehension thinkkaz? Chad said 69 d1 schools other than UM DID NOT offer Quincy. Chad clearly stated that 50 d1 schools DID offer Quincy.

Apologies. Misread that. But it still applies to those 50.

YOu can't read! I said 69 other schools did not offer him like UM didn't. Good Lordy.

Chad,

It appears as though you feel Al Golden and his staff showed you and your son a lack of respect by not sitting down with you and talking this through. I can't say I disagree.

With that said, do you believe your son handled the response appropriately? Do you wish he did anything differently during the process?

Exactly. So far as Quincy's responses, I allowed him to express himself. YOu have to let teenagers do that within reason. If you bottle them up, their frustration manifests itself in other very unpredictable ways. He could have said a lot worse things. Fans didn't like it A) because some of it was the dirty truth and B) it was something negative about the team they love.

I raised a great child, who has made his entire family proud. Nothing anyone says in here will change that. Sorry.

no you don't. you could raise your kid to not be an entitled little **** that cries on the internet when he doesn't get his way. the more you coddle him, the more entitled he's going to get. he could have vented frustrations without trashing our school and calling us a garbage and joke program, but you let him get away with it so he continued to do it.

Exactly. It's called the high road. You raise your kids to take it.

Other than Christ himself, give me the name of someone who has taken this so call high road under these circumstances. I even heard Tony Dungy defending himself on the radio about attacks on his interview of Jonathan Martin. TONY DUNGY!!! You have to be realistic.

Strange attempt at rationalizing. You and your kid weren't defending yourselves from an attack, you were the ones doing the attacking.

Will your resentment against coach Golden and his staff carry over to your current student athletes?

My resentment never carried over to student athletes. I tell them the truth. The funny thing is that before being disrespected, I lied to kids about Miami because of my obvious bias towards Golden. I bought in as many of you did when he came on board.

Now I just tell the truth as I do about every school and that's what I am supposed to do. As fans that's tough to swallow.

What supposed "lies" were you telling to help Miami and Golden? As for being "disrespected", that seems to be the problem with the SFL mentality of players and coaches. EVERYTHING short of being coddled and catered to is being "disrespected".

You dudes really need to get off of that.. These coaches that you guys are bashing in here on a routine basis get paid about $2k a year to provide all they can for these kids. MOST, not all, are doing it as a labor of love. MOST care about the kids they coach and want to see them succeed. MOST advise them along those guidelines. Keep bashing coaches, South Florida players and keeping the stadium half full. They will continue to march out of here to help other schools win national champions. Go ahead and bash me on that but it's that damned truth. Some of you guys need to look in the mirror.

I have to take a break for a bit.

I appreciate the mature individuals in here with perspective and insight.

its funny how sfl kids only seem to be offended by miami fans but not the UF or fsu hate that also comes down. Nice double standard.

name one person within the miami football program that attacked your son. i'll wait.

never said anyone in the miami football program attacked him. NEVER SAID THAT! Never had a conversation with them remember. The attacks came from the "fans".

The "attacks" from the fans came AFTER you and your son attacked the program over social media.

How many UM games did you attend this year?

I'd still like to hear why your issue couldn't have been discussed with Hurlie/Barrow instead of Twitter.

Again, I did not take the position of manipulating the recruiting process. That's just how you end up making the wrong decision.

first, thanks for coming on the board to try and clear the air. As for your comments, I read them with an open mind and thought "ok, I agree with that" or "I don't agree necessarily, but I can see how you would think that" but you lost me on this last one. Don't like manipulating the process? So you felt like you couldn't use your alumni status to contact to former teammates in Barrow and Brown and ask if there was an issue with Quincy when you are already very involved in his recruitment? Cmon, man.
What I don't like is double standard -- he feels that as an alumni he was entitled to a meeting with the coaches even if UM wasn't interested in recruiting his son, yet it didn't occur to him that he could have used that same alumni status to reach out the staff personally after he felt disrespected rather than bash them on social media. If you truly feel that your alumni status entitles you to access then it works both ways. Stop playing the victim card.

in other words he will continue to bash the program and the staff because he feels he is telling the truth. chad i give you props for coming on here but i think you are taking something personal and letting it cloud your judgment. in the process you will continue to trash something most of us care a lot about.

This thread is pathetic and has confirmed to me the staff made the right decision not pursuing Quincy. He might be a great athlete and kid but the drama that comes with him definitely wasn't worth it. We'll never know the real truth as the staff isn't going to say anything in regards to this. And I'm not saying Chad is lying; however, he is obviously biased as he should be as a father. Now his responses are comical. "I used to lie" get out of here with the BS. You obviously have manipulated the recruiting process by your obvious disdain for this staff and in turn UM.

That's something that has to be kept in mind in this situation. The UM coaching staff doesn't get to give their side of the story. All we hear is the side of the recruits/parents/HS coaches who feel they have been "dissed" because they feel entitled to something or other that they didn't get.

Chad you and your kids really shouldn't be drinking Capri suns. That **** is garbage.

I was wrong. I read to fast. But it still applies to the point. They're whining about not getting an offer from a big time program when others weren't offering either.

Contacting Hurlie/Barrow doesn't even have to be considered manipulating the process. It can be done in a very mature way, "Hey, Hurlie, it's Chad. Is there some sort of disconnect with Quincy's recruitment? Just wondering if there's any interest. If no interest, why not?" What is so intrusive about that approach with regard to your son's recruitment?

it's sad the you and quincy can rip the UM staff all the while knowing UM coaches and staff can't comment.
also, what happened to the brotherhood and family that UM players and alum are supposed to have? if you have a problem with the school or fb program, what happened to keeping it in the family?

Hey chAd u and your son trashing of the u on social media was absurd and childish.. What kind if grown man airs their grievances on social media...I will gladly meet u at biscayne boxing club so we can handle it like men... Your a joke

What kind of grown man Google's near by boxing clubs that he does not attend and issues a challenge to another man to meet him there? Give it up. Let's just all agree that blackvern is a really tough guy.

Lol @ "Manifest itself in uncontrollable ways" are you guys really buying this BS??

So its ok for you to bash Miami by tweeting out "Fear the Tie" after Miami losses and other sarcastic responses when Miami loses. That is called negative recruiting my boy, how many SFL kids know who you are? and you tweet that?

It was a shot at Golden, therefore a shot at Miami you are a big time coach at a big time school in south florida all the recruits see your posts. You are suppose to be above that, youre suppose to be a leader of men yet you act like a teenager on social media. There are more responses by you that this site has let be known that I dont care to look up. You wont even admit to them. All because you are butthurt that we didnt offer some of your kids on your team. Unbelieveable some of you guys buying his BS.

Yea this is the internet, I am no tough guy but I would like to expose a fraud when I see them. I work in the school system I know plenty of high school coaches and I know of very few who respond like you do on social media.

Powerful Post

Did you approach Golden or his staff and they slammed the door on your face? Did you call them and they hung up on you? If not, it sounds like you got ****y because they didn't seek you out to give you special attention. How mature is that?
