With Donaldson taking an RS I thought it would be a good idea to explore what our O-line would look like.

LT: Issh Walker/Campbell
OG: Traore/Campbell
C: Gaynor
OG: Scaife
RT: Williams

I feel if there was any year to start a freshman LT that it would be this year. The last thing I want is to go into next year with a new starter at LT which I think Issh will probably get the nod. The talent is too much to pass and he doesn’t have the strength/technique issues Nelson has. I would lean on playing him at minimum half the year at LT.

Where's Rivers?

Walker is nowhere near ready to step in to that this year , in a perfect world he gets a shirt. If he must play wait until half way point , he needs strength , weight and reps.

Rivers will play a lot. Wouldn’t be shocked if he’s in two deep by mid season or even starting.

Why are people so sold on Traore? He seems to have come out of nowhere, and everyone is penciling him in as a lock. I doubt we'll see Walker start at LT right away. I'd put Williams at LT and try Campbell at RT. If Campbell can't handle a T spot, move him to G where he looked pretty good at the end of the year and put Scaife back out at RT.

I was merely going off spring. I would agree on Walker but I believe he eventually needs to start at one of the tackle spots. The last thing we need heading into ‘21 is a new QB AND 2 new bookends. There’s no premier guy that we’re facing at end this year so why not?

I agree but I’m also not willing to go into Bama with 2 new bookends.

I don't subscribe to the "play a guy who isn't ready in 2020 because we need experience in 2021" model. Put your best guys out there right now and worry about next year next year. We need to win right now.

Do we know if Walker is eligible to play right away? Don’t remember seeing anything on that.

Describe best guy. Talent wise or technique wise? I’m going talent wise and developing that talent with game experience. It just so happens to have a benefit toward ‘21 to go with the fact there’s no starter for the left side. I understand that technique wise he’s not there but he’s way better than where Nelson was last year.

The outcome depends on what they want to do with Scaife. As has been discussed a number of times already, if they want him inside because of the importance of the Guard position in Lashlee's playcalls, it sends a likely ripple effect across the line. I still am inclined to guess Williams plays RT for us.
