Dexter Williams shoots down rumors

From what I was told Florida really wants Dexter Williams, but he hasn't been returning their calls. He's more interested in FSU, OSU and USC right now

So you believe his decommitment is imminent no matter what he says?

I don't think it's imminent, but I really wouldn't be comfortable with him in the class. Miami knew very well when he committed he was going to be a battle to keep.

It's naive to think we lose out on every kid due to money, but it's just as equally naive to think we don't lose out on kids due to other colleges paying them. Especially Florida right now. Everyone knows Muschamp is on the hot seat and gone if they don't have a big turnaround. It wasn't shady at all when they flipped a bunch of top rated recruits during a dead period right at early signing time...

Dexter Williams can play a little slot receiver and take reverses & screens. You can move him around. I can't wait to see him play for Miami next year.

UF has stolen quite a few players from us the past few cycles..

2014:
-Brandon Powell
-Treon
-JC Jackson
-Khairi Clark
At One Time Had..
-Ermon Lane
-Dalvin Cook
2013:
-Jay-Nard Bostwick

Lets be real mccray wasnt a high priority for anyone. If L$U wanted him they would have gotten him. Just like if Florida and TROB want williams they will get him.

I litwrally make my career on recruiting and its never been more obvious.Because of Muschamps status they will get who they want. At the end of the yr name a single player that florida went hard aftwr that doesnt end up at FL. Just like last yr LSU needed a revamp the last couple of yrs.

Im not a golden slurper one bit bit when he cant toss out cash because of our situation we got no shot.

I don't agree with that. Just my opinion but LSU, from all accounts that I put a little faith in, was all over McCray. Maybe not as much as we were, but they wanted him.

I dunno, we may be splitting hairs here.

Under Meyer and especially under Muschamp, Florida has become on par with L$U and Bama on paying kids and other dirty tactics. With Muschamps head on the block, that became even more obvious last year and this year. That is what Tim is referring to.
this such an overplayed type of statement. Unless u have proof of a team cheating then it's stupid to make accusations. Every team "cheats". Florida is recruiting well off of name alone right now

Haha what name is that? The Four-and-Eighters? Florida is obviously up to some shady business. No kid in their right mind would want to play for Muffcramps. Complete loose cannon who probably wont even make it through the whole season.

Muschamp's status as what?

A bonafide coocksucker?

The fans will be the undoing of these commits. It's annoying every time I see people expect these kids to decommit just because.

I think people underestimate this kids commitment to us. He had no reason to pull the trigger so soon. Must have been something he liked.

Define "stolen". The only guy that flipped on that list was Powell.

You are probably right, but after what I have seen over the past 2-3 decades, I do not underestimate the lengths the $EC or a F$U will go once desperation mode kicks in and they need to create last minute drama/attraction.

If this would have been a Miami lean that all of a sudden picked UF people would have claimed he had been paid. I dont think he has been paid. We will see what happens people just dont trust kids that start throwing out percentages of how committed they are.

I'm in the camp of wanting to keep this kid really badly but if Walton has actually reclassified to 2015 then which of the 3 RB's do you really want? Like I said, I'll take Williams, Cronkite and Walton but am curious as to how people here rank them- on skill/potential alone (not likelihood to remain committed, etc).

That's interesting because many have already penciled both Johnny Frasier and Jacques Patrick into FSU's class at RB. If he considers flipping to the Noles, then he'd be facing a similar situation in terms of being part of a talent-loaded backfield. It can't help, though, that Patrick and Francois are considered FSU leans since he's friends with both.

Really hope we can hang onto Williams, even if it's considered unexpected at this point.

It's a really interesting topic of discussion.

Walton seems to have the most natural feel for the position. He has the ability to not only make defenders miss, but will also fight for tough yards. Great feet and lateral agility.

Williams is an athletic freak of the highest order who arguably has the most potential of the three current RB commits. Explosive, dynamic, and a home run hitter who's potentially lethal in space. And it would be huge to land a playmaker like Williams after seeing Cook head to FSU. Yearby is terrific in his own right, but Williams would bring a different dynamic to our backfield.

Cronkrite's upside is underrated, IMO, and he's a very well-rounded back who's drawn rave reviews from those who've seen him in person for his pass-receiving ability. I think he's primed for a big senior season.

Even though you didn't want likelihood to remain committed taken into consideration, it's tough to ignore that Cronk's commitment seems to be the most solid of the three. I highly doubt it's even an option, but he's the only one of the three who could opt to play safety in college if he has an unexpected change of heart about which position he wants to play at the next level.

It's a bit of a cop out, but it's tough to even rank them at this point because they're all so talented. I don't think it's a realistic possibility that we'll hang onto all three. But any combination of two of the three would be an A+ RB haul. And that's without bringing Scarlett into the discussion, even though some thought we had a shot at him before Walton reclassified.

I wouldn't say they stole JC Jackson. He was in an area Miami has struggled to recruit well for a while

if these kids are that persuaded by what fans say on here....what do you think they will be like after dropping a pass in front of 50,000?

You knowingly listed two guys they didn't actually get?
