Depth Chart for UNC

No, the gameplan vs Franks was to cut the field in half & contain him in the run game.

The game plan vs Howell should be to force him to come off his first read & speed up his decision making by bringing pressure right up the middle with A-gap blitzes while the DE's collapse the pocket off the edge.

He's a TF making his 2nd start ever, so we need to rattle him early by hitting him as often as possible.
He was also banged up by the end of the USCe game. Hurting really bad. I want to get as many licks on him as possible early on and have him completely worn down by the second half.

What stood out most about Saturday's rushing performance was how all three backs refused to go down after initial contact.

According to PFF, UNC finished with 161 yards after contact on the ground. As of Monday afternoon, Javonte Williams' 79 rushing yards after contact were tied for the 13th most among Power 5 running backs and Carter's 56 were tied for the 35th most.

Might want to try to tackle, oh, 700% better than we did against the gator.

If you're facing a true freshman quarterback, you unleash the hounds and blitz the MF'r all day.

If he beats you with his arm with 7 guys in his face...well, then it just ain't yer day.

Ask Jarren what happens when you got guys in your face all night.

Any QB any level. That’s how you beat Tom Brady. Teams that pressure him have won. Teams that don’t take Ls.

Not surprised that’s what I was wondering about in my season preview. That and the fact that we always seem to allow some big play when the LBs overshoot

I hope we see some more variation with the WRs. Should be able to put JT anywhere on any down and allow some extra snaps for Hightower/Wiggins/flexed TE. Players like him need to be taught how to line up anywhere. Make defenses think and account for him at all times

Really hope to see JT lined up in the slot with KJ and Hightower lined up at the Z and X spots

I hope Pope and Hightower get a lot more snaps. Too talented to keep on the bench. Hate me if you want but Osbourne looks average.

He caught everything that came his way. Looks the best out of all the WR’s 1 game in lol.

We’re screwed. We can’t tackle, and they’re untackleable. Bad combo. UF ran for about 300 yards on us. Just imagine what this locomotive UNC is going to do.

I need Jonathan garvin to really step it up. He hasn’t had a sack in any game since the Boston college game last year which was 7 games ago. That’s a long drought for what’s expected to be your top pass rusher

Shoutout Brock for this nugget. That’s a legit find and definitely not acceptable, regardless of what he’s being asked to do.

I was just about to post something similar, while less eloquent. We really only had 1 play that featured poor tackling, which is pretty **** good for the first game of the year. And like you said we only gave up 52 yards rushing. Miss me with the over the top concern with our D, tackling and run D.

Javonte Williams is a stud. Covered that kid in high school. Had to be the most underrated running back in the class of 2018. Happy he's making a name for himself at UNC.

With that said, Canes by 17 this weekend as long as Jarren has time to throw 60% of the time instead of 40% of the time.

Every single one? You sure about that? Based on Bethune doing it?

Some programs put more of an emphasis on playmaking than they do blocking. Blocking is nice like I said. But your WRs need to, first and foremost, be explosive playmakers who catch the football and are a constant threat to put it in the end zone.

Right..Clemson & Bama, & OU, all put 3 bonafide difference makers on the field.

He’s had TFL’s though
