By who?Shaw was overrated
By who?Shaw was overrated
I wouldn’t, people have underrated shaq for far too long. Yes perryman was a harder hitter, but Give me the more productive and complete player
Quarterman in 4 seasons
356 tackles 46.5 tackles for loss 12 sacks 1 int
2 ff
Perryman in 4 seasons
351 tackles 27 tackles for loss 4 sacks 2 ints 6 ff
You can say quarterman played in a better scheme but so have these other linebackers we have had since shaq left and none come close to producing anything shaq did at all
Their were 19 better LB’s than Denzel here? Both Denzel and Shaq may not even be top 20 LBs ever to play here. Maybe just on the outside of that list.
Yes, between outside lb’s and inside/middle lb’s, there has been at least 19 linebackers better than Denzel. I love Denzel and he was very good, just shows how blessed we have been at linebacker position. If you are asking if there are 19 better middle linebackers than Denzel, I don’t think so.Their were 19 better LB’s than Denzel here?
Colin, Rohan, Spence were not better than Perryman. If you want to say on the same level I’ll give you that even though I think Rohan was a bit overrated. If Perryman played in Lubick’s defense he would’ve been dominant. Instead he got stuck in Fal’s BS scheme. No order im just rattling names of good/ great LB’s i can recall ( im 30).

You know what @AUcane i just named 18 dudes. And im certain you know more than i due to age difference of following the team.
Perryman probably isnt a top 20 cane lb. which speaks to how great our LB tradition is.
Bernard (Tiger) Clarke, Rod Carter, Maurice Crum were all better than Denzel, IMO.No order im just rattling names of good/ great LB’s i can recall ( im 30).

^Speaking of all-time hardest hitters…Barrow got him here
He’s having a better NFL career than any of them had, though.Bernard (Tiger) Clarke, Rod Carter, Maurice Crum were all better than Denzel, IMO.

I agree️First time I saw Perryman play, I knew he was special. Three-star ranking in high school didn’t matter.
This is why it’s so important for the Canes coaches to get off their lazy behinds and travel to high school games to see a player play in person. Film highlights like Flagg’s highlights, can show you tackles, but an evaluator can often miss out on athleticsm, speed, ability to see the play, field awareness, consistency, and other qualities that distinguish great from good future college players
Absolutely he is. I just think while playing at Miami, those 3 mentioned were better. Wonder if my opinion would change if Denzel played in their system with that coaching. I also wonder if Tiger Clarke would have been a stud in the NFL if not for his injuries. He’s having a better NFL career than any of them had, though.
Loved Colin. No order im just rattling names of good/ great LB’s i can recall ( im 30).
