Denzel Perryman

I think DP’s tackling ability at UM was on par with our all time greats. He wasn’t the greatest athlete and he was short but if he got his hands on you, you were going down. There were countless times where he was tasked with stopping a back or receiver in the open field and he almost always got the job done. Good player and a good teammate
He was the MVP of that UF game. Put on a tackling clinic.

He was awesome at UM and glad to see he's having a breakout season for the Raiders! His biggest disadvantage was always his durability, guy is constantly banged up.

As with every elite athlete you need to know how to use him. Denzel main weakness was coverage. Everything else he's a beast. Agree he was underappreciated at the U even though he was amazing here.

D'Onofrio's scheme was very friendly to inside linebackers.

You know what @AUcane i just named 18 dudes. And im certain you know more than i due to age difference of following the team.

Perryman probably isnt a top 20 cane lb. which speaks to how great our LB tradition is.
Eddie Johnson, burned bright, but not for long

I wouldn’t, people have underrated shaq for far too long. Yes perryman was a harder hitter, but Give me the more productive and complete player

Quarterman in 4 seasons
356 tackles 46.5 tackles for loss 12 sacks 1 int
2 ff

Perryman in 4 seasons
351 tackles 27 tackles for loss 4 sacks 2 ints 6 ff

You can say quarterman played in a better scheme but so have these other linebackers we have had since shaq left and none come close to producing anything shaq did at all
To be fair, Doritos didn’t let the LBs cross the LOS so it was hard for them to get TFL except by accident.
