Dear FSU...

^^^ I'm in agreement that should FSU beat Bama, this will definitely elevate our game with them. Should FSU lose to Bama
and then we beat them, no doubt you would start to hear the "overrated" handle for FSU and probably diminish our win against them

Diminish our win? Fans still crown Jacory for beating a 7-5 FSU. If we win our conference we have a great shot at the playoffs and nobody's gonna say we'll fSsU lost to Bama. However, FSU beating Bama increases their playoff odds, their perception in the media, makes their fan base more annoying, and helps their recruiting.

I usually disagree with you but lately you've been making sense to me.

It's easy to unite against fools saying to root for FSU.

Read the post, not saying I'm rooting or FSU, what I am saying should FSU wins, and they are 2-0 and most likely ranked # 1 at that point then a win over them would carry much more weight on a national audience.

Sure, but what also carries weight is FSU being 1-2 while Miami is 3-0. UF will likely be working on their second loss that weekend too. Forget that national media. The team that wins this state and the recruits of this state will always be in the national title race.

Anyone thinking Alabama is preferable to FSU hasn't had to deal with the Alabama fan base. Rivalries warp people's sense of reality.

Living in the Atlanta area there are a lot of Bama fans. As far as they are concerned it is a birthright to playing for the NC title every year. Totally insufferable

Young Homie, stop being so timid. You should relish the opportunity to knock off the #1 team in the land. That doesn't mean you rooting for FSU or anyone else for that matter. Guys like me, we like big games against great opponents. Miami, FSU and UF will get the recruits they are supposed to get. If we handle our business on the field, we will be more than pleased with our recruiting haul.

And THAT'S the reality: even when we win it all it's impossible to get all of the good kids. Why? Because we can only take in 25 or so a year when almost 200 Florida kids will go D1. This is a point Richt has mentioned many times. There's just too much talent in South Florida and Florida (we gave away Chatman and Moore). The other Florida schools (yup, even Lane) are going to get quality kids no matter what we/they do. Another way to think about that is ... even Golden was able to bring in some talented kids.

UF, FSU and Miami start with a baseline of talent that few programs can match; even when any of us suck we can only fall but so far. Once you realize that, the most important thing is just winning against top teams. Note: UF has won the eastern twice and deservedly gets no respect. Why? No BIG wins. No conference championships.

lol I'm not being timid. Whether FSU beats Bama or not doesn't change the fact that we see them on the field. If they lose to Bama they will still be the same team. The players and coaches won't change one bit if they lose or win. The only difference is I'd like nothing more than our biggest rival to be humiliated and embarrassed while you are rooting for them to have a good season.

I would put money on the fact that FSU fans haven't been rooting for us in big games in the past.

Young Homie, it is not about rooting for another team, and I could less about FSU's fans. You are being timid because somehow it would BOTHER YOU if FSU beats Bama. Why? Doesn't bother me and most others. Why? It Only Makes Our Game Bigger. I am down with that!

Young Homie, just imagine how GREAT you will feel if UM's knocks off the #1 team in the land. At that time, I highly doubt that you will care that FSU beat Bama.

Again, the Miami/FSU rivalry wasn't created by 2 Mediocre teams playing each other. We need to get back to doing Our Part.

Old homie, my guess is you're a 20 post FSU troll.

Don't forget your garnet and gold t-shirt on Saturday.

Yea, I'm not understanding the logic here. If FSU were to lose do they automatically turn to a mediocre team? No, They probably wont fall any further than to 7 or so. When we play them they will be top 10 regardless.

P.S. I hope they get absolutely throttled.

First off, do you really think calling everybody young makes you sound smarter? Makes you sound like a fool for assuming you can look through a screen. Second off, I'll feel amazing if we beat FSU no matter what they're record is. I enjoyed the Gators 4-8 season immensely and not once did I think "I hope they win so our win feels better". If we beat them, then we own the right to trash talk all year. Then every other game they lose is a cherry on top.

Okay, Young Homie. Timidity is something you just have to work through. Give it time. Don't kick your TV in if FSU beats Bama. I, on the other hand, would love to beat the #1 team in the country. I know that scares you. Give it time.

Peace, Young Homie.

They return Francios and no one else on offense. Add to that the fact that they play some of the toughest defenses in the country (Bama, UM, Clem); I really don't understand the hype around FSU this year. They have a lot of unproven guys and no time to get them acclimated to being 'the guy'. Not to mention Charles Kelly on D. Teams are gonna hurt them over the middle and find ways to take advantage of their LBs. Really think they start 1-2 and win maybe 9-10 at the most this year.

I've told dfagundo I think they have the worst record of the big 3 school. 8-4 for these clowns.

HOT take: Both UF and FSU will be ranked below USF at some point this season (due in large part because USF plays absolutely NO ONE)

Agreed

Charlie Skrong has a good year and then is once again thought as a hot coach who wasn't given enough time at Texas

Coaches MAYBE one more season at USF and then goes elsewhere to coRch it up again
