Dawson is fed up with the inside run talk

DTs are in 4i’s (inside shoulder of OT). Usually responsible for the B gap in base defense.

Nose is in a 0 tech, head up center. Might slightly be shaded to the right here because he’s slanting into the strong side A Gap. He beats our center by ripping across his face, which is textbook DL play, and the rest his history.

With all of that said, If Fletcher jump cuts to the left, he has multiple creases, even if that’s not where the play is “designed to go”

How much film do you need to see of the C struggling with a 0T and RB1 not making that cut before you realize the % is lower than it should be, and NOT improving? It's past mid-season.

Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the strategy or even the answers today, the fact that you guys are comparing him to Dorito after he’s had pretty much pretty decent press conferences his entire time and today he finally gets testy and you’re all on him like he’s been a douche bag for three years is ridiculous.

Some here clearly know ball but some other responses here are also like you didn’t play past 12 year olds, and now took the coaching kids for dummies course to coach your 5 year old and think you know pro/college level schemes

I wonder how many times @JustAFanHTX (a dude who’s been linked to Dawson since prior to his arrival) has to come on here and share that what we see is not Dawson’s preferred run scheme. Maybe one more time. Even if @JustAFanHTX is completely full of it, many have shown the distinctions between pre-Miami Dawson and right now.

It’s completely possible Dawson is just being a good soldier or professional. What’s he gonna do? This is the same dude who went on and on about his approach to ending the TAMU ‘23 game with a dagger.

Perhaps they’ve ‘all decided’ to play a certain style this season. And, while it may have its place in some situations, it’s a tougher way to string together consistent success.

*Edit to add: waiting on the inevitable fake jet sweep to Mali that ends up in a toss play. So I’m happy when Dawson’s given approval for that one.

No margin for error. Methodical is too nice of a word for what we do on offense.

When both Miami and Houston fans have the same complaints about Dawson running up the middle all the time thats too much of a coincidence for me

Playing chess not checkers

TrumpyCane can't wait for the NC game down 5 v OSU with 2 seconds left, Dawson calls a read option and Beck pulls it for the GW TD

Oh I’m not excusing anything. I said in this thread that our 3rd and short calls are predictable. Hence the N slanting into the strong side A gap (where we wanted to go) and them bringing both backers.

Play action here and someone might still be running. Also I nice counter like we ran against UF last year would have been awesome.

It was just explained to me by Dawson's baby momma that a counter is just another run up the middle.

Solid discussion on the 4th and 1 play call gents. And for a lot of us here is the problem we have.

1. No surprise at all where the ball is going. That DTs only job was to shoot that gap and blow the play up.
2. We all know 52 ain’t the best run blocker and would assume the coaches know too
3. Field conditions/rain means 52 is probably a 1/10 sec slower on his snap?
4. Just looking at the defensive alignment they have 6 stacked up inside of the tackles
5. Knowing all that we decide to run an A gap dive out of the shotgun, don’t give the center any help, and are surprised at the result.

Wait so you mean to tell me there just might be idiots on both teams boards?

(Choose your version of who I am referring to you, whichever one makes you happy and feel vindicated 😎😭)

Yes.

Being an ******* when you’re asked a legitimate question, is such a bad look. You got your *** handed to you in the run game for 10 straight quarters. So now you don’t always “move people up front.”
