Imagine that! They change up their offense WEEKLY!
And have 3 losses.
Guess who also loved changing every week? Lance Guidry.

I agree. I edited my comment as you were responding, and I said even if the play goes right, if our center makes even an half-*** block on his guy, it's still a first down. But bouncing to the left was points. easy.DTs are in 4i’s (inside shoulder of OT). Usually responsible for the B gap in base defense.
Nose is in a 0 tech, head up center. Might slightly be shaded to the right here because he’s slanting into the strong side A Gap. He beats our center by ripping across his face; which is textbook, and the rest his history.
With all of that said, If Fletcher jump cuts to the left, he has multiple creases, even if that’s not where the play is “designed to go”
All I see is our center going in the wrong direction again.
Sounds frustrated, fed up, tired, and not liking the questions.that's because Gary questioned him early. He wasn't the only one asking about it.
Dawson couldn't help but throw the barbs though.... Never has he been like this in a presser....
Yes, and that's been his issue as a center. Bigger DTs give him major problems. That's why Coop and whoever is at LG (Samson or McCoy) have to combo block with his *** all the time. All I see is our center going in the wrong direction again.
Fans have no memories unless it supports their preconceived narrative. Is that really true? Everyone is fed up with the run up the middle, but we all remember that was Lashlees only run play when here. Did he change his philosophy?
What is the issue with this play, beyond Brockermeyer getting shoved into the backfield? We aren't outnumbered. We needed 1 yard, which we would have gotten had #52 done his job.
One of Dawson's best qualities is that he's *not* like that. He doesn't think he's the smartest guy. He doesn't complicate it too much. But Dawson got the smartest man in the room syndrome.
If we were **** bent on running it why are we doing it without a lead blocker and out of the gun. Yes Brock and Coop didn’t get push but how much of that is from the DT simply launching into that gap? Especially Brockermeyer who has the DT on his RT shoulder (a gap) and isn’t getting help from Cooper. He’s expected to snap it and get his head across and drive a 300 lb DT who’s simply shooting into the gap he’s lined up in? That’s a tall task IMO. Play was destined to fail before the ball was snapped.the play was less than a yard. Obviously the play call should have been a run. It's less than three feet and we have Fletcher. The problem wasn't the play call against the formation.
Problem #1: the Center and the RG didn't block worth a ****. The C got manhandled and pushed back two yards from the LOS and Cooper is about to get pushed to the side.
Problem #2: I understand wanting to run behind Cooper and CiCi, but this play should have gone left. Bell, Samson, and Lofton all pushed their guy back, and CJ, who is an excellent blocking WR, could have peeled and taken on the FS that was lurking. Fletcher should have bounced this to the left and then outside. He would have walked into the end zone.
If we ran trap or counter with this fanbase they'd just think it was another "run up the middle."
It’s in these types of formations where I understand our tight splits. If our RG cuts his split down a little more, it’s harder for the Nose to slant into that gap, which helps the center, and allows him to get more of a piece of him before he can disrupt the play. But the reality is, you can’t have a DL rip across your face like that. What is the issue with this play, beyond Brockermeyer getting shoved into the backfield? We aren't outnumbered. We needed 1 yard, which we would have gotten had #52 done his job.
Does TrumpyCane need to remind you that every coach gets testy at one point?
Dawson's been super chill for 3 years years, talks honestly, etc but everyone has a boiling point with stupidity
I watch enough football to know that our offense is far behind plenty of other programs. But Dawson got the smartest man in the room syndrome. If we can sit on the couch and tell you what play you’re about to run, you might need to look in the mirror
Yes, you are correct. And it wasn't even one yard. It was less than a yard (sorry for being technical). Fletcher is in the game. Although Cooper didn't get the best block and his guy did move him off of his spot, Fletcher would have still leaned forward for the first down. It's our center who was at fault. He got pushed two whole yards backwards. At initial contact, Stanford has seven guys at the LOS in engagement. We have 8 guys at the line of scrimmage LT, LG, C, RG, RT, two TEs, and a WR. We have the numbers. But numbers be damned when your center gets pushed two yards backwards even before your RB has the football. What is the issue with this play, beyond Brockermeyer getting shoved into the backfield? We aren't outnumbered. We needed 1 yard, which we would have gotten had #52 done his job.
brother, we had the numbers lol. The only reason why the play didn't result in a first down was because our center was pushed back two yards before our RB even took the ball.If we were **** bent on running it why are we doing it without a lead blocker and out of the gun. Play was destined to fail before the ball was snapped.
Teams know where we are going. And we’re thick headed enough to keep doing it.
No he sure doesn’t complicate much of anything. One of Dawson's best qualities is that he's *not* like that. He doesn't think he's the smartest guy. He doesn't complicate it too much.
This fanbase is dumb.
He’s channeling his inner Csonka. Respect!Only pvssies run it to the outside. Real men run into a 8 man box
Also is it me or did mark fletcher cut back in to make contact with a defender instead of running away?
they had a DT simply shooting the A gap. We are expecting Brockermeyer to execute the snap and get across the DT and move him off the ball? That’s a tall task. Don’t think he got any help from Coop who is locked up with his own guy since Mauigoa is starting to engage with his own as well. Even if Brockermeyer stalemated that DT the play is getting blown up.What is the issue with this play, beyond Brockermeyer getting shoved into the backfield? We aren't outnumbered. We needed 1 yard, which we would have gotten had #52 done his job.
