Everyone of these coaches had huge red flags that screamed "don't hire". That is false because I have complimented hires in the past as well, its just that our last few HC hires have all been corches so I have not complimented them. I can see pluses and minuses, but when the minuses far outweigh the pluses, which has been the case for every hire dating back Coker. You don't hire them.

I am not doing "I told you so". I didn't make threads about "I told you so about Richt or Manny" and I am not going to do it with Mario either. I state facts and that is all, people don't like it because they don't want to hear it.

I didn't say they had huge red flags I said they had plusses and minuses and that's a fact. I was a student when JJ was hired... Nobody wanted him. He wouldn't fit the culture, he never beat Oklahoma or Nebraska, he never won more than eight games I believe it was, so there were Red flags everywhere but in retrospect I'd day it worked out pretty well. So just curious here what would you say the positives are for the Mario hire if any?

We are spending a lot more money because the BOT likes him. That is the biggest plus by far. Putting us on an even playing field with the competition.

I mean it could’ve been scheme but also it seems like from his first snap to his last snap nesta didn’t improve much as a player
 
It’s a shame this thread went off the rails. Daryl Porter, Jr. went to WVU, outperformed expectations and is now coming home to play for UM. Our experienced coaching staff (one actually recruited Porter and coached him at WVU) wanted him, so that’s good enough for me. Welcome to the U, young king.

In the pass-happy Big 12 no less. He's not Antrel Rolle but he'll be a quality #2 when everyone else on our roster has question marks.

SIDENOTE: That Quarterdeck attracts all kinds of former athletes. Patrick Surtain, Daryl Porter, Khajana Carter, OJ McDuffie, Dante Culpepper, etc. There's always somebody in there. Lots of other "talent" walking around that establishment as well. It's a low key gold mine.

They have about 3 more weeks until the new Flanigan's in Sawgrass opens up and annihilates them though.

That Flanigan’s has been a mirage for 5 years I feel like but I saw the sign is up finally and they are close to opening. Quarterdeck does well enough with the happy hour crowd they should survive. I’m actually surprised Flanigan’s is opening there but I guess there’s enough overflow
