I’ve never seen an NIL contract but I have to assume from all the complaining by the players about not getting paid that a good chunk of it isn’t guaranteed but performance based. If that’s true, and Jackson didn’t play a snap, then how much did he really earn this season? Probably would have been much better off staying at Miami. Just a guess.

He would have been much better off staying.

Would have gotten paid for a full season and would be getting ready for the draft now.

ive seen NIL deals and theyre based on not play but performing the metrics of the deal - social media posts, appearances, ads. they cant be based on performance on the field otherwise its pay for play

NIL deals can't be performance based. The players are usually obligated to participate in certain promotional events. They don't have to play a single snap, let alone play well.

This is why you take 1 year guys from the portal. They don't hold you hostage at the end of the year. Come in, get their agreed on $, and leave.

Jackson left where he got consistent payments on a monthly basis and went there and got it cut off because he wasn't eligible and he bought into what they were saying and what they bribed him to do... saying his mother was sick. She was in on it too and agreed to try it.

He collected a little up front to make the move then it got cut off because his agreement says they can.
