Darnell Washington (new thread)

Baga TE’s have 16 receptions, 157 yards and 4 TD’s between 3 TE’s.
UGA TE’s have 19 receptions, 199 yards and 0 TD’s between 3 TE’s.
Brevin has 35 receptions, 495 yards and 2 TD’s.
Mallory has 4 receptions, 87 yards and 2 TD’s.
Hodges has 2 TD’s as well.

So essentially Brevin has as many receptions and 139 more yards than the 6 TE’s from BOTH schools COMBINED.

And thats with Mallory dropping about 5 catches and being targeted even more.

How do we use Brevin Jordan? Since when have they emerged as a bigger threat than Miami for Washington? This is meaningless I still Think he’s going to uga at the end of the day
When 3 of his top 5 schools are SEC..he probably wants to play in the SEC

If he was smart and wanted to maximize his earning potential, he'd at least consider this.

LT money >>>>>>>>>>>>>> TE money

That's if you're an elite LT. If he turns out to be average, he won't make the league and won't make money. With his skillset right now, he's on a fast track to being an elite TE that can get potentially drafted first round. That's why it's a head scratcher why he's thinking just SEC and not where he'll be utilized heavily like Miami, Iowa, Notre Dame, etc..

From the Bama 247 recap of Washington's OV there this past weekend:

Bama made up ground on five-star athlete Darnell Washington. There’s still a lot to be determined, and visits he will take, but the trip puts Alabama firmly in the race. By all accounts it went really well. Having Bryce Young helps, and the two spent time together this weekend. Georgia has been thought to be the leader since the summer, and that might still be the case, but UA has closed the gap more with this trip. Tennessee is also a factor, among others like Oregon and Miami, and sources close to his recruitment feel this one could have some twists and turns before his plans to announce a decision at the Under Armour All America Game in January. One interesting note to watch: Washington is also mulling over announcing a commitment on Dec. 12, his mother’s birthday. That is not set in stone, though.

Here's why I don't buy that coming from this kid...

If how often the TE is used in an offense is really the main determining factor for where this kid will go, then why TF would he ever even consider UGA?? UGA's TE only has 11 catches on the year & as a program hasn't had a TE do sh*t in the league since Ben Watson & Randy McMichael.

Bama's TE only has 12 catches on the year... Neither program uses the TE AT ALL lol.

If TE targets really matter that much to him this should be a Miami vs Oregon battle with Miami having the significant lead & aside from Oregon being a better team than us right now, Miami is still the better choice for a TE.

My estimation is, he wants to play at a winning program & was definitely looking to get paid, but neither UGA or Bama would be all that much money for a player at a position they barely use, they probably just selling him on the fact they're winning programs & put a bunch of players in the league, but that's not all that convincing to a kid that wants several targets a game as a TE.

I don't think he will seriously consider coming here, I feel like he's just playing games & looking to get a lot of attention so he can have hats on the table at whichever All-Star game he plays in in January.

However, we have nothing to lose here because the prestige of being TEU gives us more leverage than we usually have when trying to recruit high ranked 5-star prospects. So, all we can do is keep throwing the ball to Brevin for these last two games, put him position to be a Mackey Award finalist, get Darnell down for a OV, show him clearly we're the best option for him if he's serious about playing in an offense where the TE gets lots of targets & reiterate the success we've had developing TE's & getting them drafted in the first round & put the ball in his court.

If he smart he'll make the clear & obvious best choice for his career, if he's an attention seeking front runner he'll sign up to be a De facto Offensive lineman at Bama or UGA, either way it's on him.

Exactly. Only thing that dude is charting is how much money each school is willing to put in his pockets.
