Darnell Washington (new thread)

Here's why I don't buy that coming from this kid...

If how often the TE is used in an offense is really the main determining factor for where this kid will go, then why TF would he ever even consider UGA?? UGA's TE only has 11 catches on the year & as a program hasn't had a TE do sh*t in the league since Ben Watson & Randy McMichael.

Bama's TE only has 12 catches on the year... Neither program uses the TE AT ALL lol.

If TE targets really matter that much to him this should be a Miami vs Oregon battle with Miami having the significant lead & aside from Oregon being a better team than us right now, Miami is still the better choice for a TE.

My estimation is, he wants to play at a winning program & was definitely looking to get paid, but neither UGA or Bama would be all that much money for a player at a position they barely use, they probably just selling him on the fact they're winning programs & put a bunch of players in the league, but that's not all that convincing to a kid that wants several targets a game as a TE.

I don't think he will seriously consider coming here, I feel like he's just playing games & looking to get a lot of attention so he can have hats on the table at whichever All-Star game he plays in in January.

However, we have nothing to lose here because the prestige of being TEU gives us more leverage than we usually have when trying to recruit high ranked 5-star prospects. So, all we can do is keep throwing the ball to Brevin for these last two games, put him position to be a Mackey Award finalist, get Darnell down for a OV, show him clearly we're the best option for him if he's serious about playing in an offense where the TE gets lots of targets & reiterate the success we've had developing TE's & getting them drafted in the first round & put the ball in his court.

If he smart he'll make the clear & obvious best choice for his career, if he's an attention seeking front runner he'll sign up to be a De facto Offensive lineman at Bama or UGA, either way it's on him.

Boom. ****, Issac Nauta who was the #1 TE went there and died. Only fools would go to Bama or UGA to play TE there when they feature their RBs and WRs almost exclusively.

Baga TE’s have 16 receptions, 157 yards and 4 TD’s between 3 TE’s.
UGA TE’s have 19 receptions, 199 yards and 0 TD’s between 3 TE’s.
Brevin has 35 receptions, 495 yards and 2 TD’s.
Mallory has 4 receptions, 87 yards and 2 TD’s.
Hodges has 2 TD’s as well.

So essentially Brevin has as many receptions and 139 more yards than the 6 TE’s from BOTH schools COMBINED.

I like the pitch man I do, I just can't mentally grasp it. Not like **** is in the water, or eating some mangos with vinegar is turning people into TE's lol
You don’t have to grasp it. You don’t really need to grasp at anything because it’s straight facts to be honest.

It could very well be mangos with vinegar because since 2000 there’s been Kellen Winslow, Greg Olsen, Jeremey Shockley, Jimmy Graham, Clive Walford, David Njoku, Chris Herndon and more.

Eleven have been drafted since 2000, which means we’re getting a TE drafted more than every other year. Five have been 1st rounders.

Sounds like it’s something in the Greentree water to me

Simplistic view.

Add in Bama's WR's and RB's and compare them to ours. There's a reason Brevin is featured so much and it isn't because we have ballers at WR. You can't say that about Bama.

Don't get me wrong, Brevin would get his there as well. He wouldn't be putting those numbers up there. Different team, scheme, and yes Washington would get more targets here. Brevin won't see the ball as much going forward if we can keep the passing game going like it we just started to.

Georgia, they're a run first team. Same idea, just different attack.

Agree that they have a ton of talent at other positions that demands the ball but let’s not forget Brevin is doing this with having to help with blocking a ton more than usual. I disagree that Brevin will see a noticeable drop in usage with the emergence of some of the WR. Unlike those teams, we will continue to scheme plays specifically for the TE’s whereas the TE’s in their system will always be an afterthought as the 3rd or 4th option.

Based on that analysis, surely he's going to Oregon? They use the TE, they're a winning programme and they pay kids.

Idk if he can hear y’all

I had mangoes and vinegar on a street in Cartagena.

Bama didn't develop or use Oj Howard into anything. They misused hima and he would have went first round from coastal Carolina based off of him coming out of high school looking the way he looked and his combine work.

They dont know how to develop tight ends either. We legitimately have decades of it, and places like Iowa and Notre Dame. Dude just wants to go to uga or bama because the whole "Sec, Sec" thing that is some type of status pull to guys.

In reality he's a kid that if he works out and goes to freaking unlv would be a first rd pick-2nd round pick
