Venice (Fla.) EDGE Damon Wilson is down to five schools in his recruitment, he announced Wednesday night on Instagram.

Wilson will ultimately make his college decision between Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Texas.

Despite his lofty rankings, Wilson has led one of the quietest recruitments in the country thus far. He has taken one official visit — a trip to Alabama in mid-June — but has otherwise remained off the radar. Alabama is currently considered the favorite to land him by the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) with Miami and Ohio State trailing behind.

He told On3’s Joseph Hastings in June that he plans on using official visits to Miami and Ohio State and is undecided on the other two; Georgia may not receive one as he took a four-day unofficial visit to Athens from June 9-12. He expects to make a commitment in December, potentially around the Early Signing Period.

Interesting this comes out shortly after @Stevo365 Tampa comments.

He has not confided in me. Let me be clear.

The official visit, NIL, and how Mario closes his parents and him = His spot here imo. He has that passion intensity in him!
What’s your connection to this kid?

I clearly missed it apologies my friend

Yep, all signs pointing to Damon being the Edge recruit from Tampa that we're turning up the heat on.

I mean..look at who is in the kids top 5..if that doesnt tell you all you need to know about how special he is. Also, notice who isn't as well. FSU and UF. **** if feels good to finally be at a point where we are on the right path of not having to worry about those 2 bum programs very soon. They wont even be our competition anymore when it comes to recruiting. We literally wont even be recruiting the same player. Our competition will be Bama, UGA, Ohio State. We are at the high rollers only section of the casino now, gentlemen! Cheers!

I dont see what his leadership has to do with anything. I can tell you he is a great kid and has a great family. It sure seems like he is more than qualified based on comments here. I hope he gets one **** of a NIL deal. I hope he signs with Miami. Id say he has a committable offer from Bama.
He isn't saying THE KID ISNT A LEADER ... he is saying that there doesn't seem to be any team with a lead on getting his commitment. Love to have him pick the U.

He didn't really specify, but after Sept 1st I think is correct with the dead period during fall practices if I recall correctly.

From ON3 yesterday:

He told On3’s Joseph Hastings in June that he plans on using official visits to Miami and Ohio State and is undecided on the other two; Georgia may not receive one as he took a four-day unofficial visit to Athens from June 9-12. He expects to make a commitment in December, potentially around the Early Signing Period.
