DAILY DEBATE: What conference do you want Miami to join?

I don’t understand why yall think the big ten would treat us better than the sec lol. Seems like all of that sec will hate us **** is just emotions instead of logic

I would prefer sec because our talent base is in that area and its the best conference imo but im cool with either one. I think the big ten would be an easier schedule for us and there is old rivals we can spark up, so we can market our brand better there.. so its positives for both sides to me. Only negative is staying in the acc while the other top teams leave

Conferences in general are a lame duck. There’s only a matter of time before broadcasters get tired of spending the money for rights to broadcast half the teams in any conference that don’t make any money. Given the choice, Fox or ESPN/ABC would gladly replace the lower half of the BIG/SEC with teams that actually make money for them. There will be a group, maybe 40-50 total teams from every conference that gets invited to play in the new, not NCAA football league and everyone else will be relegated to second tier status.

I like the matchups in the B1G - old school type games with Nebraska, Penn State, Ohio State, Washington, etc. and then I've always been intrigued with Oregon, USC, Michigan, and UCLA matchups for Miami. Then, I prefer the atmosphere, proximity, venues, and weather of the SEC.

Also, the "fluff" of the conferences... I'd much rather see Miami vs. South Carolina, Miss State, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt than I would Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, Rutgers, etc.

Not eager to spend Novembers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, East Lansing, either. I'd much rather be in Baton Rouge, Knoxville, Tuscaloosa, Athens, or Columbia. Also, depends where FSU goes. Another matchup we need to keep.
I definitely don't want to see Miami vs Rutgers again

Sooo tell me see you’ve been around dese boards for a few years…. without telling me that you’ve been around dese boards for a few years. 😂🤣😂
Lol. I lurked forever then one day I decided to say all right, stop what you're doing, cause I'm about to ruin the image and the style that you're used to.

Geographically the SEC is obvious, but we know we will not be welcomed there. So that only leaves the B10. Since everyone believes the ACC WILL DISSOLVE.

B10 > SEC > ACC > Independent/B12.

But ideally the top 40 or so programs all bail out of the NCAA for Football. Form 8 divisions of 6 (but maybe 7) which would be 48. You play your division opponents yearly, and have have 1-2 permanant non division games (to preserve some rivalries) plus like 3-4 rotating non-division games

Top of each division makes CFP, plus next 4 best. And we can rock with: (This is an attempt to make a pretty even playing field. Some rivalries will be preserved by using 2 permanent non-division opponents). The top 6 are what I'd do. Last row is just if there were 7 each, which I wouldn't prefer.

Anywhere but the ACC

B1G w/o a doubt. They’d give us a fair shake whereas the SEC would treat us like the Ole Miss program that started beating Bama when it wasn’t part of the plan. Not to mention how mistreated we are with the officiating in the ACC - not gonna get better in the SEC.

I’m an official and I’m telling you now that guys CAN impact games/calls by their “judgment”. I’ve literally left stadiums ticked off because of ish my partners called. Example - PI calls….you call 5 on Team A but zero on Team B….both teams are airing the ball out.

I wish we could be independent. There's like 6 schools I wish we could play on a yearly basis.
UF, FSU, VT, ND, BC, and Pitt. Coincidentally, those are also the 6 schools we've played the most (except ND is 8th with GT 6th and UNC 7th)

I get Virginia Tech, but what's the attraction with Pitt and Boston College?

It'd be nice not to see — or hear about — Hail Flutie ever again

I am fine with being in the ACC until the Big2 come calling. SEC grabbed Mizzou years ago. Big10 grabbed UCLA. Miami can achieve those levels of desirability come the next go round.

Of my preference:

1) SEC

Miami crowds will flock to see SEC teams coming to town. Watch the turnout for: UF, Alabama, OU, Tx, LSU and UGA. Ticket sales will eclipse ACC sales guaranteed.

2) Big10

Second choice. There is name recognition, but the local loyalty and recognition is not as strong as the South Eastern fanbase in the area. Watch the seats fill up when Miami hosts:
OSU, Mich, USC and Penn. You may see a new rivalry emerge with Wa. as some will remember they cost us a Natty appearance in 2000 and they are the most recent Natty contenders of the Pac.

Presuming FSU and Clemson bolt, the ACC could basically be what the BigEast was in the 90s.

B1G w/o a doubt. They’d give us a fair shake

Lot of fans from the B1G have-nots might say differently when it comes to playing Ohio Taint or Me-Cheat-Again.

We'll still be outsiders wearing the black hats — just like in the SEC.

I'd rate the options:

1) SEC: football-obsessed culture + geographical proximity + frequent games against UF and FSU. Grade: A

2) B1G: national profile + FOX/CBS/NBC. Grade: B

3) Big XII: second-tier status + no opponents to excite fan base + excuse for UM administration to pull back on athletics. Grade: D-

4) ACC: Untenable. Close up shop and turn all sports facilities into picnic areas and intramural rec centers: Grade: F-

Big Ten all day every day. that’s the conference we belong in and the one I believe will be in sooner than later.
